An end to Pro Evolution Soccer!

Change the name of this game Konami, or forever lose out to FIFA!

I am firmly of the opinion, that if Konami are serious about competing with EA Sports, they need a new name for this series of games. It's a right mouthful at the best of times! It's too long and cumbersome and, when abbreviated to PES 1, 2 or 3, only the initiated know what you're on about! Mind you, Winning Eleven ain't exactly catchy either!

No wonder most kids choose FIFA! Such a shame....

Whats wrong with Pro Evolution Soccer 3?

Surely is must be better than

Federation Internationale de Football Association: Football 2004

Oh Come on! You're not telling me that Pro Evolution Soccer is a better name (yes...I said "name") than FIFA.

Lose out on the basis of its name...sounds shallow to me.

Shallow maybe, but it does lose out on a name. Say FIFA to a kid or a girl and they'll know what you mean.....begin to say P..R...O....E..V...O...L...U...T...I...O...N ...S...O...C. and they'll lose interest. Ease of memory helps sell a game, thereby, enabling Konami to put more money into buying the licenses.

When I play a game I don't actually look at the name of it. I look what it has to offer me. Name is something that comes last. And kid's take fifa because EA spends a lot of money in advertising their games than trying to improve them. ;)

are you in marketing or something? I mean really PES isn't meant for the casual gamer, and everyone already knows what it is...anyone who likes footy and in depth games about said sport.

And one more thing. Konami should first get the lincenses and then try to change the name. I believe that konami doesn't want to spent money to advertise the game like EA does cause of the license problem

I mean they make enough money though..I also do find it strange that everyone takes the piss out of EA for being only concerned about money but then Konami has alot of us buying not 1 or 2 but 3 fucking versions of the same game......fuckers!

he's got a point, at least marketing-wise. It's very Japanese (mitsubishi EVOLUTION 6)
to have this kind of name, and yeah, PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER is not catchy. And even though it's not a game for the regular gamer, u got 2 agree that Konami's goal is to make more DINEROS. Licenses would improve the game marketibility, but on the other hand cost money. A lot of it. Changing the name to a catchier title doesn't.
I'm with ya Paolo.

but in interview Seabass said he want to have it fully licensed so it will eventually, I mean that is a serious beef that the consumers have and I think they have taken that to heart...I mean if they really didn't want to license then why would they start this year, it would only piss us off even more.

how about changing the games name into "THE BEST FOOTIE GAME EVER 4" instead of "PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 4"? ;) :)
