why is it that there is such a lack of complete option files on the net for PES2008 on the PS3? Can someone explain why I can only find options files with only the kits for the top four Premier league teams?? Is it not possible to create a full option file for the PS3 the way it is the the PC version of the game, or is it that it will just take a bit longer?

Please someone, explain this issue to me! Cheers!!

Because you can only have 8 scanned kits (4 home & 4 away seems to be the norm). All others have to be made using the limited edit feature.

Best you can hope for is correct names/updated faces, the rest is bunkum. Sorry!

Thats stupid..is this something that may be fixed in the future or in the next game? Like, even the 360 version apparently has all the kits...why does the PS3 get the watered down version?

Well it won't be fixed for this game, but I sure hope it is fixed in the next game. We'll just have to wait and see though. They seemed to have a lot of problems with the PS3 version for some reason, but let's hope they learn from this and produce at least a passable version next year.

I guess the only excuse they have is this is the first next-gen PS version. Xbox is on it's second...

i agree completely, there are no complete option files for ps3 at all! but there are for xbox 360 and pc i dont understand? and nobody seems to want championship teams

It's not that people don't want championship teams, it's just that it's a lot of hard work to create a full OF. Be patient and one may appear in the next few months, either that or see who else is interested in helping & make one yourself.

Remember, the people on this site who create the OF's do it free of charge in their own time.

After firing up PES 2008 for the first time last night, then applying one of the OF's the difference they make is superb.

My thaks go out to the people who have the time and patience to create these, and it only my eagerness to play as Leicester with all the correct names etc that has led me to ask on another thread when we might see an OF that contains the lower leagues.

It seems a strange decision by Konami not to allow such in-depth editing as on other consoles / PC's but knowing the similarity of the Xbox 3FixMe's architecture to a PC maybe it isn't.

Yes, the PS3 is a different beast but it has been out for is nearly 2 years now (??), and I'm sure some developers had hands on before release. Sometimes it feels that blaming a console for lack of SDK's or confusing architecture is an easy way out.

Thankfully Konami have released a patch that (in my case) has sorted out the bugs, and rightly so. Other Developers do not seem to be this concious and just seem to shrug there shoulders.

But getting back to the main topic, I for one are very grateful that certain individuals create these for the rest of us to use!!
