Hi Guys im sorry about asking this but you have all been great in the past , can anyone PLEASE advise as to which antivirus program is the best ? tryed asking in shops but the same old crap go for this that and everything , my girlfreind has a trojan horse virus on her pc , and avg wont remove it and i dont know how to , I HONESTLY THANK YOU ALL ONCE AGAIN

oops, didn't read the avg bit, it has always worked for me are you sure you have updated it?

I had this problem not long ago. It can't be fixed by Norton/AVG programs. Try searching for 'Trojan horse remover' on a search engine. This helped to fix part of my problem. If she has Windows ME or better, the System Restore facility should do the trick.

avg will remove it.....u need to uncheck system restore first....go to control panel..system...performance...file system...troubleshooting..uncheck disable system restore...reboot and re run AVG...should clear it up no prob...after its clear be sure to recheck the box....

some systems may already show the box unchecked...so check it

what ever u do remember to put it back to its original state

if you cannot get a virus/trojan removed via the products on your PC. I suggest symantec's site. There you can find detailed instructions about the viruses/trojans and removal procedures/tools.


One of the latest viruses (yes you spell it viruses, not virii when talking about the computer kind) Doomjuice, has a new variant out. Here is the page for it and you can see some of the info on there.

scrubbing windows

i ended up scrubbing windows and installing norton 2004 seemed to do the trick , and also got zonealarm running once again thanks a lot everyone :)
