Fifa looks good this year judging by the demo. At first I did not like it, but by forcing myself to play the demo I'm starting to enjoy it. I will get both games anway. I am going over to the darkside. :chanlaugh:

TBH I've not even considered the "dark side" this year. Bought FIFA08 last year, only because the release date was earlier though, but havn't played it since PES2008 was released. To be fair though I thought it was actually OK, its not a terrible game at all, but personally I think it falls way short of PES. The only complaint I had about PES2008 is the edit mode, this year though its looking like its back to its old brilliant self again.

ill def be getting both games fifa plays quite well on the demo and the skills are good if you use them with the right players. . . . .but terry and rio should only be able to do a drop of the shoulder! Faces have been improved LOADS, on the demo anyway

i thought no FIFA threads...any way the Online mode in FIFA08 is enjoyable and till this day I play only that mode. If anyone has FIFA08 and have downloaded the FIF09 demo you will hardly notice any difference besides the shooting.

Still i prefer PES. It's the same game for how many years? and it seems that i am jsut addicted to that game. FIFA's new engine is pretty crap if you ask me. Let see how KONAMI will do with their new engine.

same problem

when i say darkside i mean fifa 09, ihave been a life long fan of pes and i am getting pes 2009 when it cums out. But ia have started to lik the fifa demo on ps3 and mite be actully buying it, is any 1 else goin to buy both like us?

Ps. havent played fifa since fifa 1998 when it was gd!

ive bin playing pes since the iss days and totally lost interest with fifa when i realised that iss was a much better and more enjoyable game to play! but after last years dissapointment with pes 2008 i did turn to fifa for a period of time and i have also downloaded the fifa 09 demo which i think is a very decent and i may invest in the game but i am determind to stay loyal to pes thi year and give them another chance but the little things in fifa 09 make it a very good game for example the nets are sooo realistic and the way the players challenge each other in the air i just hope the "little things" have improved drastically on pes 2009 and restore my faith! i also think that konami have been extreamly intelligent by adding the champions league mode into the game because when ea sports have done it they have released a different game jus to play for a couple of months! that is a very clever idea!

This fanboy stuff is gay as fuck. Time you all grew up imo.

I'm big fan of both games but can admit to the fact that PES2008 was the worst in the series which drove me to take it and FIFA was wank from 2000-07. If PES can get it right this year then we'll have 2 brilliant football games for a change!

Kopites are Gobshites!!! I can just imagine you saying that in the scouse accent mate!!! class!!! very funny!!!

PES2008 was the worst in the series, yet still streets ahead of FIFA. Ive played every FIFA, and every PES, and ill probably buy this edition of FIFA too, but i wont be getting it on release day. Ive played the demo and wasnt all that impressed.

Other than the licenses there isn't all that much i would want from FIFA to include in PES. The way i see it, we already have the ultimate footy game.

Aaaahhh... FIFA does have some good looking animations and moves now, that PES is beginning to lack. Also the LIVE season this year is sounding good.

But I've also played every PES game since the ISS Evolution days on the first PlayStation and not owned a single FIFA since '98. I'll wait 'till all the reviews are out on both games and try to gather up all the lose pieces before I'll consider buying any of the two. Maybe I won't get any of them. But right now - in this writing moment - the scale is tipping slightly towards PES. I just don't like the fact that each and every player in FIFA feel exactly alike, whereas in PES, you can actually feel the difference between the different players you control...

Im def getting both, Fifa 08 was o.k and it did have some floors but i ended up playing that more than PES 2008. Fifa 09 looks awsome this year and yes it still has a few bugs but it plays alot better.

In 1 Playstion 3 mag the rates pes 09 at 88/100 and rated fifa 09 at 89/100. it's gunna be down to choice and what your mates play.

I take your opinion into account mate. But IMO there is quite a few things that FIFA out does Konami in & it aint just licenses. For a start I think Konami's licensed kits look better than FIFA's anyway.

PES's gameplay, regardless of last years installment is never under threat IMO!! But thats ust becauseI prefer how PES plays compared to FIFA. Not because it is better. FIFA keeper animations are alot better than PES's albeit a lil sluggish.

Well that was my point mate, other than of course the licenses, the keeper animations, despite their sluggish reactions, are all i'd really consider putting into PES, i wouldn't really add all that much from FIFA into PES.

NEVER! i fell for this last time.

dissappointment in pes 08 made me trade in for fifa 08.

this was swiftly followed by re-trading for pes 08. The guy in Gamestation thought i was odd but hey, no matter how bad pes is, trust me it aint as bad as FIFA.
