Any news on the multiplayer aspect of PES5?

I mean, will we be able to do 11 users vs 11 users where each user controls one player in the match?

Or will it still be 1 on 1 like PES4?

Because I've always dreamed of a footie MMO. This could be closet we have to it. Imagine creating a team (or a clan) of 11 members to play matches, leagues, tournies against other teams (or clans). That would be so fun. It would reqire the upmost tactical ability and teamwork.

Now that you say it, it sounds great, 11 players with their own role. Doubt it would happen in PES though.

I'm actually more concerned if they are going to fix the lag issues in PES5. In PES4 online mode there's always like 1 second delay in every action you make, unless you host the server.

Na its still the same as in pro 4 Guys

Are you sure? I read that the multiplayer will have Leagues and Tournies.

OK, I just did a google search and found this:

You can have matches with up to 4 users (2 vs 2) on custom online leagues. There isn't much news on the multiplayer part of the game :/

That sounds awesome dude.
Imagine scouting out players who have there own qualities like dribbling or tackling. Hope this idea gets done someday. :)

lol yeah!

Just like those FPS games where you can spectate the match. You should be able to do it on a football MMO and scout players.

Football is the most popular sport in the world right? So imagine the amount of money the game would make if they made is subscription based like all other MMOs. If I had the money to invest or even the talent/ability to write a game like that I would be loaded. lol. (Thats hint for all the major coporations out there reading this thread :p)

You would start out as a crap player and depending on where you play your stats would grow (ie levelling up) and you would be a better player. For example, if you played in defence all the time then your (obviously) your Defence stat would rise and so would sliding, balance, response etc etc

Anyways, I'm sure it'l be made one day...

It would be even better if your player would evolve around how you play, for example if you dribble alot than that stat would increase.

hewarkaren, these sound like good ideas, but the problem with the 11 man thing is probably the lag etc. but I heard that the lag has improved from pes4, don't count on that as I don't have a source on it.

The MMO ide does sound cool, but I wouldn't pay a subscription (and I don't think many countries will either). The Korean method's better: make it free for everyone, but charge real money if you want to buy special items/buy game money. But if the gameplay's too simple, it'll all be for nothing...

I assume PES5 for PC will still be IP connection multiplayer only? One a slightly unrelated note, I saw WE9 for $10...almost picked it up (I was getting a PS2-USB adapter too), but I've heard too much about lag ;_;

Well I like pes 4 so much that I'm not going to buy pes 5 unless it has significantly better online play.

Have you guys tried IOS mod for half-life? It's pretty fun eaven if the gameplay sucks. Imagine what it would be like to have pes online 11 v. 11..

Yeah lag is a huge issue at the moment when it comes to massively multiplayer first-person-shooters. I guess its the same for PES...its kinda like a FPS...there are things moving constantly and so much data needs to be passed around computer to computer at once. Thats why there aren't many MMOFPS games out.

I play WW2Online and thats real-time fighting with hundreds of players at once fighting for a town..lag can get so bad in that. I hear Sony are making a new MMOFPS but won't be released till broadband techonology has increased a lot. Which is understandble...shouldnt be too bad now that 24MB Broadband will be available in the UK on December 05. Cant wait.

As for 11 on 11 online game, that would be boring as hell. Who would want to play as a keeper? Sitting watching doing nothing half the time. Thats the fact of it... 11 human controlled players on a team means each one barely does crap all most of the time. there is a mod for HL called IOS which does a sort of 5 on 5 football... even THEN you feel as if you dont get much of the ball; AND there are huge problems in finding anyone who willing to go in goal and do jack all.

I agree on the goalkeeper part...might be a bit boring. But personally, I would love to play 11vs11 (or 10vs10). I would'nt mind keeping my position, making runs that won't work or even man-marking opposition striker. It would be more of a football simulation than a game. That's what I've always been looking for. A real football match but in computer game format. PES is the closest to that. As long as the team I was in had players that I knew wouldn't act selfishly then I'm sure we'll all have our moment to shine.
