Applying for negotiations!

I started my own team & have got into the premier league and have a bit of cash to spare.

I found about 5 youth players (including beckham) from other teams with great potential to bring in so 'applied for negotiations'.....they all broke down straight away.....twice!!

Is this the norm? How can I sign them?

Youth players are hard to prize away, as they have a stronger-than-normal bond to the club that "brought them up", so to speak. Best bet is to go for those on 1-year deals or who are in the last year of their contract (better yet, if their renewal is "on hold"), but even then, if their club is significantly higher than yours in the overall team rankings, they'll likely turn you down anyway. Sometimes you'll luck out and they'll be released at season's end because their club couldn't afford to keep them and/or didn't use them, at which point you'll have a great chance.

Also, upgrade your scout to as high a level as you can afford as soon as possible!

It's crazy hard to sign young talents. Villa got this amazing 19 year old 82 CB named Baker, and even though I'm ranked 1 and won the treble last season I can't sign him. :/

Thats because Birmingham is such a great city :) and my gran would get a game for Villa so Mr Baker will get his chance to play first team football there.

My gran is dead btw

Baker is on loan to Lincoln City right now.

How's Craig Gardner, btw?

Dont know - he was on the bench on Saturday but didnt come on. Ridgewell scored though.

I actually think he'll do pretty well for you if played in midfield. (Right back, not so much.) He's got great stamina and energy, is one of the more aggressive tacklers I've seen, and can absolutely hammer the ball. He's not going to win any awards for technical brilliance, but he'll certainly let other teams know he's there (until he gets sent off! he likes his cards) and should free up the other midfielders to attack more, though I guess that depends on how he's deployed.

Problem is we have Bowyer and Ferguson who are both playing out of their skin at the moment and that Michel we bought is a British type player so Im not sure how he will be used.

He is Blues fan so will be like all the others such as Carsley and Robert Hopkins, Paul Tait etc - all madmen

Just try to find out on "Scout Recommendations". I don't really like them at the first time, but it work very good to see ideal signings fpr your squad AND ALSO with the price tag that is sensible to pay with the condition of your team.

It works good to me now, since the star players in my season 2014-2015 are getting old and grey.

Try for the "Openness to Negotiation" and "Future Potential", add the players on your scout list and see how good their stats are.

Buy them (cheap offcourse), nurture them, and when it is time for them to leave the transfer amount will be good. Or if you want to keep them until the rest of time, it's all up to you :-D
