Applying pressure..defensive nightmare

I find pes6 to be very interesting, but however I am experiencing some defensive dilemmas even when playing with a good team.
The problem is I find my opponents attackers to be rather cumbersome to handle especially when engaging in burst of speed. They usually tend to beat my defenders mainly on the flanks by simply running straight down the flanks and gradually proceeding at a 45 degree angle towards my goal.Even though I'm on their tail but I just can't seem to apply the right amount of physical pressure as they do to achieve possession. As a result they usually outrun my men with or with out the ball despite the fact that I'm playing with a team just as good.

I'm Open 2 all suggestions :)
tks

extra: As much as i Want Liverpool to win the championship..sadly it's a scheme 4 Ac milan comeback since their humiliating relegation...thats how those in power do their math n ac milan has got lots of it.

Set your marking to aggressive and choose to mark there key attacking players. Also set your defenders to make attacking runs towards your goal, that way they stay back. Make sure there defence is set to high to in individual setting on the formation screen. That should help sure of your defence a little, especially the marking as your players will block them off the ball etc, even hack them without the ref noticing ;)

I'll hack em alright..

I usually hold the square button to have a defender trying to apply pressure, while I try to envisage where I think the run will take the attacker, and I move accordingly to intercept this.

Works bout 9 times out of 10.

ALso works wonders for those 'run to byline, pullback and pass into the box for a simple tap in' style players.

Have the CPU controlled player apply pressure while you run into the centre of your box ready to intercept the shit ball in.

Create a visual picture in your mind of what you predict will happen.

I agree with jonno's advice, it's pretty much the same thing that I do. Although use the square button sparingly, if you hold it all the time then the Com will sometimes make a dirty challenge. I've had alot of penalties given against me because I was being lapse with the square.

yeah also as the com is set to follow, they just chase and get knackered, i tend to press square until the com is applying pressure then come across the other side and take the ball myself
