Are penalties in PES realistic?

The reason why i ask is becasue everytime i get a penalty, i hit it down the middle and low along the floor and 99.9% of the time the keeper dives away and i score. If i told alex ferguson this secret and he used it would it be the biggest revelation in football history?

nah their not realistic because no keeper in the world can dive into the very point in the top corners from a still starting postion.

I agree that down the middle never fails especially in an important game where you can't afford to miss. In pes4 at least if you did this, the keeper would actually stay in the middle 1/2 times out of 5 pens which kinda counteracted this but pes5 pens, way too easy.

i think the pens are shit i liked the pens on iss pro on the n64 coz u had a little red square to aim with and on 2 player u could make it vanish

the worst thing about them is the CPU randomising cock-up "feature" that decides to smash it wide or against the bar every so often.

Oh... nearly forgot, some geezer got a (bloody annoyingly lag-tastic) penalty against me online the other day.
I did the usual press down and square but the ball squirmed it's way through my goalies legs and trickled over the line.
I was gutted, but pleased at the same time, cos I love it when you are introduced to a new move or animation.

Well I missed a hat-trick of penalties, I put it middle, left & right - Frey saved everyone.

Missed 2 last night against Inter and toldo middle then to the left! The penalties are not a reward.

Has anyone won a penalty by getting to the ball before the Goalie and being brought down? usually you knock it passed him and your player jumps so slowly over him is this still the case?

ive had plenty (or at least too many!) penalties saved, including a down the middle. The most unrealistic thing is the keepers diving and landing a yard wide of the post. but fuck it, the game is brilliant.....some people!

Yep. Always. pens are too easy to get, not as easy as pes4 but still easy. When the keeper comes to charge me down i regularly get a pen for what can only be described as the keeper running back towards the goal but looking away towards the ball(whch is by the 18 yard line) and running into my player and i get a pen. Annoying if i want a bit of a challenge.

I also use the middle when I really must score, but sometimes ... you just shot it through the middle and you shoot the ball out of the stadium ... penalties are just random ... you can't get skilled in it ... ít depends pure on luck ... that's no good, I think

Yeah but when you shoot down the middle you must always hold down so it goes along the ground otherwise there's the risk you'll do a jaap stam at euro 2000

Little trick I do when playing friends. I tell them which way I'm going, "bottom right, if you don't save it you will look like a fool" I then proceed to go straight down the middle.
