I've just started BAL mode, having spent my time up to now editing or in ML, but I can't find instructions for which button to press to request a pass. Please help, I'm aware that this is probably a bit of a stupid question, but I'm not an idiot, honest :D

Right trigger X2 on 360.

Ah FYI, you could have looked in the games "tips" section in the BAL options page.

I know that now, I was playing in the scouting match and I panicked! At that stage the BAL menu didn't show, so I was lost...
