PES 2008 is driving me to insanity!!!!!!

Until about a week ago I could connect to the PES 2008 online network no probs....apart from the odd mandatory lag etc obviously. Anyway, I then started getting bad lag for a couple of days. Then on the 3rd/4th day it started to not let me log in saying error 612: no response from DNS server.

Anyway, I've now fiddled with port and opened all the relevant ones. I've set a static IP address for my PS2 and ensured all the ports are open for that IP address. My speed is about 3mb download and 1mb upload. Now it refuses to let me log in most times because it says "unable to find server to test connection" or similar, which pops up just after it flashes Testing Network Connection.

However, what's puzzling me is that it is letting me 1-in-8 times log in and play online etc but within about 15/20 minutes I get disconnected from server and can't log in again.

I need help from someone please!!!!!!!!!!!

My setup (with relation to PS2) is:

* PS2 Fat Style with Network Adapter
* Ethernet cable running into port in router
* Netgear DG834G router/modem
* AOL 8mb MAX package (actual speed 3mb download/1mb upload)

the router should automatically set up the settings needed to play evo online if it is connected through ethernet , have you tried resetting the router to factory settings then try evo online and report back what happens
