Alright.
I do my own option file and have spent the most time making sure that COM managers field the correct players at kickoff. I don't know if you've noticed this, but I'm sure you have - default, and to my dismay, edited roster settings do not guarantee that you will see those opposing players on the pitch when you face them in ML. In exhibition/friendlies, yes, but ML, no. (and of course i make sure its not due to bookings - and like a pussy i have injuries OFF)
I noticed one day while editing Chelsea's team strategy/substitutions that the position of the player I was looking at did not match the position he was slotted for in the formation. I found my solution I thought - I'll just go and change either a) the formation to accomodate his position or b) his primary position so he will not be out of place. It is irritating to be matched up with a high profile team and 2-3 of their best players are substitutes for no good reason at all.
So I thought I was clever and had it fixed until a new season started. There obviously was no possibility for a booking/injury etc, and Real Madrid is my first week opponent. In the last menu before the match I go to Formation Settings and of course Ronaldo is a sub, Raul is an OMF, Zidane is LDMF, and joining Ronaldo on the bench are Figo and Becks.
This is bullshit. ML has been reduced to shit in my eyes 'cause sides like Chelsea field Desailly and Makelele, but no Mutu, Duff, Terry, or Gudjonsen etc for example. And let's not get started on how AC Milan looked. Hopefully Konami will put a little more effort into the concept of COM managers in the future.
I guess I don't mind playing friendlies all the time but if anyone could offer a solution to this it would be appreciated.
Oh and Konami. . . _,|,,
