Hi there guys I started my first experience with PES 6 and really enjoyed it. Got the latest version PES 08 and I am having real trouble with the following issues any of you experts out there got and solutions to the following questions?

How do you prevent your players from stumbling, rolling or raising their hands in the air up to 70% of the time when the AI pressures you? (resulting in loss of ball and long recovering time.)

How do you pressure the AI like they pressure you?

How do make your player recover quicker after a clean sliding tackle on an AI? Every time I slide tackle the AI they recover quickly and manage to get hold of me again, and if the slide tackle you and you side step them they recover very quickly and is on you again, this is the same if they stumble, roll or raise there hands in the air.

How do you prevent your player from knocking the ball 1-2 meters forward every time they receive the ball through the air?

How come if you cleanly sidestep the AI they manage to get a burst of speed and catch up very quickly with your player?

How do you prevent your players from running out of stamina by the first quarter of the game in a 10 minute game, if you only use sprint up to 10-20% of the time during the game?

How do you command your attacker to go into the box when you do a cross, most of the time when you do the cross by the time the ball reaches the AI’s defense your players decide then go into the box?

How do you prevent your players from clustering together around one AI leaving huge gaps in your defense? (I can only control one player at a time)

When you are pressuring an AI how do you prevent your other players from leaving there posts to support you (and I am not using the support pressuring button), resulting in AI attackers being left open?

Why is it that the AI can stumble, roll and let your player raise his hands in the air up to 15-20 times during a game and walk away with a foul at most?

Well I can see that I have probably overwhelmed you guys with questions, so I wont go into detail about the goalkeepers issues which on its own needs its own paragraph, thus I would really appreciate it if you experts out there can give some feedback or solutions to the problems that I am experiencing. I love the game but I am having a lot of difficulty in enjoying the game and challenging the AI on fair ground.

Well thanks again to every ones support.

How do you prevent your players from stumbling, rolling or raising their hands in the air up to 70% of the time when the AI pressures you? (resulting in loss of ball and long recovering time.)
- If you're on Master League, sign players with good Body Balance. Or if you aren't, or like to use weak players (suicide on PES2008) then at least just try and pass it more.

How do you pressure the AI like they pressure you?
- Whatever the PC equivalent of R1, R2 and X (someone help me out here?)

How do make your player recover quicker after a clean sliding tackle on an AI? - Sounds cynical, but don't made a clean sliding tackle - make sure you get them once you've got the ball, you'll be up first.

How do you prevent your player from knocking the ball 1-2 meters forward every time they receive the ball through the air?
- Tap the PC equivalent of R2 as it comes in.

How come if you cleanly sidestep the AI they manage to get a burst of speed and catch up very quickly with your player?
- You've got slow players or you're not holding "Dash" [the worst name for Sprint ever...]

How do you prevent your players from running out of stamina by the first quarter of the game in a 10 minute game, if you only use sprint up to 10-20% of the time during the game?
- Erm............... it takes about 80mins of the game for my players to run out of stamina... you playing with Team G or something?

How do you command your attacker to go into the box when you do a cross, most of the time when you do the cross by the time the ball reaches the AI’s defense your players decide then go into the box?
- Um.... wait til your strikers are in the box before crossing...

How do you prevent your players from clustering together around one AI leaving huge gaps in your defense? (I can only control one player at a time)
- You could try holding the PC version of Circle to bring a teammate near the guy with the ball, then use your player controlled guy to cover the gaps in the defence.

When you are pressuring an AI how do you prevent your other players from leaving there posts to support you (and I am not using the support pressuring button), resulting in AI attackers being left open?
- See above

Why is it that the AI can stumble, roll and let your player raise his hands in the air up to 15-20 times during a game and walk away with a foul at most?
- Because it's not really a foul is it? I mean, I've never played a game where you win a free kick for raising your hands in the air.

And yes the keepers are frankly diabolical. At least if you play as Paul Robinson it makes the game realistic!

I appreciate the help will definitely try out those tips, never knew that R1 and R2 is used for pressuring thought only x and a was used for pressuring. I experienced most of these issues in ML guess my starting team "team G" (PES original team) just suck allot....but hopefully with a few wins I will be able to replace the retards PES starts you out with.

Just got one more question, how difficult do you find the game on regular difficulty in ML with the PES starting team? I really struggle but when I drop a difficulty (amateur) its far to easy....

Thanx again

Oh god the starting players on PES2008 are useless! First time I decided to use Exhibition Mode players. Mind you I was on Top Player

I did try them on Regular - tricky, was winning games but only 1-0 etc.

R1 is obviously sprint (or DASH!) and X and R2 combined make your player pull the opponent's shirt and generally pressurise them.
