does it effect your rating if you constantly call for the ball for no reaso? because i do that a lot...

Well it seems that the ratings are dependent on a few things. 1 if you are on the winning team. 2 how many completed passes you make so meaning you passed 24 times and 23 were complete etc. 3 If you were involved in any assists so 1 assist or 2 assists. 4 If you have any shots on goal and how many of those shots were on target i.e. 5 shots on goal and 5 on target. Finally how many goals that you scored, so if you score many or even one then your rating goes up. I think also looking for the ball and being involved in the play helps with the rating but I think that the biggest factor sometimes can be your team winning. I have played brilliant idividual games scoring goals but being on the loosing side and still not getting as good a rating as members of the opposition who didn't play as well but were on the winning side. Hope that makes things clear!

I disagree with number one. I've posted, and others too, about getting 8.0 ratings on the losing side. Being on the winning team doesn't seem to matter.

One of the biggest factors is distance dribbled. I can't say it is the only or the most, but since I've started trying to dribble my way around everyone I've been getting consistent 8.0 ratings.

And as you will see from the following screen shots, I also disagree with number 2. I made no passes at all and still got an 8.0 rating.

Here are the screen shots for my 8.0 rating on a loss.

basically the more time you play for the more you have to do to get a good rating lol

Thats because you only played for 19 minutes lol. if you come on as a sub you only have to make a string of good passes and maybe an assist to get a really good rating.

You'll notice yourself if you are on for a full game and don't score or get an assist then you'll have to make sure that you make most of your passes and get some shots on target at least to get a half decent rating. Ive came on as a sub at 70+ mins loads of times and got a goal then ended up with a 7.5 rating for it lol

Basically the more match time you play the more you have to do in order to get a good rating lol. Ive had full games where ive had 2 goals and an assist but done nothing much else apart from wait about and got a 6.5 for it

i know it helps when your on the winning team but it is much easier to get a gd rating when ur not on the pitch long and do a few gd things

i don't think your team winning or losing has an effect on your rating. I play for Man Utd and played against West Ham, we lost 3-1 and i got a 8. I played for 86 mins and did not score or assist, as long as you are involved in the game, plenty passing, interceptions and dribbling then you can get a good rating.

yeah following on from the toon guys post:

it's all about percentages i think. i saw them screen shots and the guy done fcuk all in the match but got an 8. i think pass and shot completion / on target ratio is key. i've had games where i've had 5 shots got 5 on target, no goals but an 8 rating.

congrats to the guy who got an 8.5.... i've been hammering BAL, i'm 33 now and never got higher than an 8. even scored a hat trick and made two in one game!!!!!!!!!!!

haha

have you ever played BAL

i've just finished my 8th season and on the development graph my player is at 90, considering BAL runs for 18 seasons i'm sure he is going to get alot better aswel.

Yes in real life certain players, Messi, Ronaldo etc, are awesome at a young age but do you not think BAL would be boring if your player was brilliant at that age, you would achieved everything on the game by the time you were 20!

Also although you do gain development points by skipping matches you quite clearing get more and develop faster by playing matches and consistently getting ratings over 7.

Don't be silly , you will stop growing right about here , you won't grow anymore than maybe 1 point in some stats , or MAX 2 in some , and no Messi and Ronaldo are pretty good but in BAL they get even better in a very short time , infact go check them out in 2nd or 3rd season , almost every stat is around 99 95 93 ...
You can NEVER in a million years be even close to that good , so you can't be the best player in the world obviusly which is wrong.
You should gain far much more points for your performance and very few for automaticaly beeing in a game , that way you have some potential to be as good as messi one day maybe if you play very good.

Also you don't get that much strenght points for unimportant matches no matter what your rating in a game is.
