BAL MODE - How to get good ratings - idea's thread

Okay. So, I'm missing something here... One player dribbling and having the ball 9-10 times more than the rest of the players on the pitch is "more realistic" than being closed down by the defense and having to pass the ball???

Ever played in a real (competitive) match? Did you, or anyone else, dribble all over the whole field and have the ball 9-10 times more than anyone else?

I played competitive for many years, and even the best players, who dribble like mad, don't manage that. I don't think you could say even Maradonna managed that! Well, maybe once.

Anyway, in the EPL, La Liga, etc... Do you ever see that? If defenses are tight, then that's realism to me.

Yes, I think so. But I also think about AI foresights. (Best in regular setting, worst in top player) In my opinion, there are two different types of AI in PES. Your team's clumsy AI and opponent's flawless AI. (One and only flaw is early desicions of AI.) For example; sometimes stealing the ball from opponent is impossible, your opponent knows every movement of your player. Another one is; opponent AI knows exact location of bouncing balls. Opponent team often counter attack with that way.

I think, this "AI foresight thing or whatever" is the real killer of realism. (I wanna make a video clip from that moments. I saved some of them, really think about it :))

While reading all the posts about dribbling in BAL I was thinking the same thing.

who cares about the ratings. as long as I'm getting better than 6, I'm happy because I know I won't be on the bench. Other than that go on enjoy the football and not making sure you get the 8.5.

Also I've been playing it on Top Player and for a while it was very difficult to even score. but then once your player improves and you score a goal, it really feels like the real thing. when you're constantly under pressure, scoring a goal or making a nice through pass/assist is really rewarding.

Regular is much easier than Top player, especially when your player has poor stats at age 17-18.

I say go for the challenge and not dribbling the entire match.

In my opinion, better to play regular setting if you want some realism. Ok, don't use dribbling all over the field. Just play like a real match, this makes more realistic game. But AI is ridicilous on other difficulties.
I mean, if you want a "challenging game" prefer Top player. Otherwise, it is waste of time.

It may be a waste of your time, but I find that the challenge is worth it. I don't want to play a game where I can score 60 goals in a season. It would be fun, sure, but I would rather play a game where I struggle for my 20-30. Then, when we win the league, Champion's league, etc. I can feel like I've really accomplished something. Anway, I don't understand what you mean by the AI foresight being too good. On top player I find the opposite is true quite often (they should learn to predict when I make to cheap-o diagonal cuts!).

You should put this video together and post a link to it. Maybe you will show me something I hadn't noticed before, or that I got used to.

You said, you prefer challenging game. But I think regular, prof., and top player are challenging by other means.
I think on regular, your team mates play terribely. Sometimes you must do everything. Easy to play in the middle of the pitch but hard to play inside of the box or near the box.
On the other hand in top player; your team mates play well, passing and also crossing are good options unlike regular. Fake shots are very effective to lead scoring shots, just make sure shooting from right angle and with right stats. (diagonal shots with a good shooting stats)
This is just an example. There are a lot of tactics to play on different difficulties. If you don't want to play with them, just don't do it. I think, on top player the game drive the player to do that cheap tricks. But on regular, easy to choose not to do. And I prefer regular because of that. Maybe I am wrong, but this is my way of thinking.

Yes, you are right. It is waste of my time. This thread is for better ratings and I shared some of my ideas. My opinions as I always said. You can play whatever you like it.

NOTE:
If I make that "awkward moments" video, make sure that I'll post a link to it. But I think, as you said, you already got used to most of them. (But I can't stand :)) So I guess I'll prefer goal compilation videos as I made before.

^Yeah. It's like that your tem mates won't do anything without you. Now it is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time.
But they will start to dominate once I play well and score.

I think the biggest factor of all the aspects is the amount of drippling done throughout the match. for example me getting 1 shot of 5 on target plus about 65% of passes thru isn't all that bad if I dripple the ball around 150-220 yards during the game - this should secure me at least a 6.5 rating.
Is it a good thing? I dont think so but it's how it is.

I have a question. Does anyone know what position determines the rating you get? For example, if I come into the match as an AMF but then get put into the CF position somewhere during the match, is my rating based on wether I fulfilled both my role as an AMF and a CF, or just on wether I fulfilled my roll as a CF?

i think it combines both of them, but focuses more on the last position.

Yes, I aggree with you. First goal is very difficult. Especially after leading at least 2 goals, your team mates decide to play well. This is so irritating :)
