BAL recomendations for KONAMI

1- You should be able to alter the formation of your team or the computer should adjust it according to strength of the players on the team. It’s not real if the team sticks to that formation year after year. You could define a team’s historic style so that the formation that the computer chooses is coherent with that.

2- Why does it rain so much? I would understand it for games in England, but I don’t remember seeing that many games in the rain in Spain. Also the commentators often get mistaken: when it’s raining they say, “conditions are ideal”, and when its clear they say “players should be careful with injuries”.

3- The schedule should be coherent with the times that matches are played in real life. Most of the finals should be played at night. That’s mandatory for Europe.

4- MOST IMPORTANTLY: The game is fun and hard and addictive, but they should make it more real. If you want to be rational, and forget about the fact that a 21-year-old striker could be a star... make it so that your legend doesn’t have to play well in all the games at the beginning. Limit his games but not his points, so he should only play a couple of matches the first year, coming from the bench. Make him practice and decided what points you would like him to improve (you could even play him in matches with the youth team of that club, or international Sub 20 matches). That way by the time his 19 he could play at a decent level. If he plays very good, he’ll become a star soon. If he doesn’t, he can still be a star at 27. If he plays horrible, well then, warn the player and leave him without a team by 25 or 26. That way he could begin again.

Agree with all those points tbh! Particularly numbers 1 & 3; I hate nothing more than not being able to move to the club I want because they play an unsuitable formation. And as far as part 3 is concerned, it ruins the atmosphere to no end playing european fixtures in daylight - not a difficult fix! This problem effects master league, too.

I'd like to add in that the players on your own team shouldn't be dumbed down, as opposed to the computer players.

As it is now, every match I'm playing in, be it agains't Wigan or Barcelona, I have about 35-40% posession whilst the computer usually plays the ball around freely.

Sometimes it feels like I'm in an amateur team, and I mean, I play in Man Utd.

Yes, there's clearly a problem whereby unless you work your arse off to make things happen, your team-mates barely can.

I hate that!! I'm playing for United now, after being in Mallorca, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid (in amateur) and Arsenal (in regular play)... and in regular play it seems as if the computer is playing with you: fowards miss the most incredible shoots and it doesn't matter how you play it's a random affair if you end up winning.

It's ok if the other teams figth more when falling behind to make the games more interesting, but to make your player unrealistically bad its just plain wrong.

I can't imagine how it would be to play BAL in Professional Mode. It would be imposible.

1.Completely agree , they should let you have some say in that or at least make the AI do good decisions and be smart , because the AI is completely dumb in this department , I was in the final of European Championship with Liverpool and for some reason even tho nobody was tired or anything the AI choose a line up WITHOUT :
1.Me
2.Torres
3.Gerrard
I mean WHAT THE HELL IS THIS???
The second thing id like to point out is I should be able to ask the coach to take free kicks or corners or so , and then he would maybe give me a chance and if im good from them leave me or take me away if I would be horrible and also make me CHOOSE if I actually wanna take free kicks and penaltys or NOT , here you have no choise , whats the 2nd free kick taker for? You cant choose not to take it if the coach puts u as a taker its ridicilous...

2. Its kinda true and yes the commentators in general need alot of work , im hoping for new commentators or at least improved.

3.Thats true , the matches are just at a random time.

4.Agreed , no need for further emphasis

And additional to that

5. Make real CONTRACTS , not 1 year contracts , thats arcade alike and dumb , make the teams offer me contracts for periods of 1 year , 2 year or whatever , and then let me accept the offer or negotiate the prize and period of contract further and if they don't want ok if they accept fine , then always get contracts from other teams if anyone wants you even tho you are in for more years at your club and if the money is good enough you could accept or so, for god sakes make some deepth in the contracts...

6.Change the damn interface , you need 30 seconds to go into contracts , for them to display , to exit .... and its the same with matches and everything else , and not only in BAL in general , whats up with that??

7. Improve the AI the teammates are completely dumb , here's one example:

You give Torres one of the best strikers in the world a beautifull troughout pass and the ball goes about a meter or 2 inside the box no defenders before him and instead of trapping the ball and going a bit forward and finishing he slides towards the ball and kicks it way to the side of the goal...
And thats just one example.

I could probably think of much more than that if I put effort in it , but thats it for now.

Obviously scripted periods after the January transfer window where your team goes on a bad spell. Happened last season and has happened now; my 8 point lead is down to 3, all because my team-mates are playing their worst this season.

Yeah, as I've been playing, i've moved up from Beginner to Regular (mind you, I'd never played PES before when I started out so I had to start at Beginner xD) and it feels like Regular is the difficulty thats going to take me awhile to pass.

The defenders are smart and hard to get by. You're also getting closed down by no less than 2-3 players at all times, and when I pass the ball away to someone, there's a very high chance that that player will be an opposing one. Doesn't matter if I play agains't Hull or the Argentine national team.

Should have Champions League and UEFA cup as they have the lience and they could also put it in the ML.

Why not have a league below like in ML so team could get relegated?
Add International U21 teams?
Have Reserves vs Resevers instead of palying for 1st team?
Have practise sessions to improve free kicks?

Great at moment but could have loads of improvements!

Yeh there is definately room for improvement but i think everyone has to agree that this addition is a step in the right direction.

I would like to agree with Cymarel7's 4th point & say that i think that Konami need to realise that most if todays footballing stars are still quite young & peaks potentially already reached by 24-25 in some players & Konami should be introducing reserves vs reserves as you 1st start out at a team & have reserve leagues perhaps - might be difficult to run that alongside normal league.

The "Condition" annoys me the most. It seems as if it is morale related but anyway, your condition should be judged on how your last game went and not randomly by some monkey in Mongolia. I scored a hat-trick in a cup game and the next week I had a purple arrow. Grrr

Additionally what is with giving cards in training? During our training sessions with my town team we are never shown cards - scrap that please Konami!

it is used for legends, scout the best players you can, they are then available for the legends team you play in.

BAL difficulty on beginner should not get progressively harder... I play on beginner for a reason and it makes me mad that the game keeps getting harder and harder even though it is set on beginner. If I wanted the computer to get harder I can change the difficulty myself at the end of the season. BTW is there a way to reset your difficulty back to the default beginner setting? The "Beginner" computers are doing tricks and the keepers actually try to save and keeper charge.
