how do you get certain special abilities? do i just need to score a certain amount of goeals to get the scoring one, and assists for playmaking?

i am a SS and trying to improve dribbling stats to try and get the dribble skill, also shooting from loong distance at every opportunity to try and unlock the long distance shooting one
