My favourite football is the one used in the 1970 World Cup where Brazil beat Italy 4-1 in the Finals. It is the best World Cup ever.I remember the ball then was shaded black and white. It is so striking and it really made the game grand. Yesterday on WE shop, I spent some 500wen on ball type thinking that I could select an image like the one used in the 70's. I saw my balance reduced by 500wen but there is no new ball!!! What happened?
Are we supposed to choose the ball type or something like that.
Anyone, please. How can get to use the new ball? Also I saw that we need to spent another 500wen on ball effect. What is that anyway.?

Before you start a friendly match, press R1 to go to the second page of options. The last option there is to select which ball you want to use.

Ball effect, when activated (in the same option screen as above) adds a multicoloured flashy line in the patch the ball has travelled. This happens in every replay mode.

If you want to make your own ball design, it's not too difficult if you know where to look. You need an image of the ball design you want and then replace the file in the game and voila!

Would it be possible for us to use the new ball for a cup tie?
As for the ball effect, I think it must similar to one found in Fifa 2002 World Cup. There is even a certain sound to it. The flame following the path of the ball does not really make the game any more realistic. Thanks. i would not spent 500wn for that.

Yes, you can use the ball everywhere - just check the options at the start of the cup. Or go to the option mode during the cup if you can and change the ball type. I think option 3 for the ball makes it a random choice.

The ball effect might not be worth 500 WEN but some of us are using the updated option file which includes about 80,000 WEN so we can buy everything.

OK Guys - getting a bit confused here. I thought the plain white ball was the default and you got the Champs Leagues ball for 500 points in the shop?. Is that not right?

Also, agree with Cadburyho - the old spotted black and white was a classic. It'd be great if we could have that ball and then we could use it for the classic matches - Italy- v- Brazil 1970.

I don't understand why they don't put a real choice of footballs in - they're not all licenced are they? Or give you a ball designer in edit mode

No Scooty, the only ball in the game is the Champions League Finale ball.

The white ball was only in the BETA version.

As Zyg mentioned, you can always create your own ball designs using a template.

If you don't have an idea of how they look, this could be helpful.
