Basic Patching Guide for PES4

(scroll down to see the same guide for WE8:LE)

First of all you need to use your original PES4 DVD to make an image onto your PC and then patch it. And you need a DVD-burner with blank DVDRs

1. Downloads.
You will need to use these programs

a)DVD Dycrypter,
http://fileforum.betanews.com/download/1011845169/1
http://www.dawnload.net/video_softw...d_decrypter.cfm

b)ppf-o-matic3 (also known as pdx-pom3)
http://www.paradogs.com/download/pdx-pom3.zip

c) CD/DVD burning software such as Nero or Alcohol120%.

d) Plus the PES4 patch you want to use - such as the jonboyo one found here.

Most patches come compressed as rar files so you need to check this thread to find out how to unrar (uncompress) these to give you the actual patch files which are .ppf files.

2.
Create an ISO from your original PES4 dvd game using dvd decrypter or other ripping program.

a) Put your Original PES4 dvd in your PC dvd drive
b) Open DVD Decrypter, go to MODE /ISO / Read
c) Choose your destination folder eg origPES4
d) Press the go button (dvd->Harddrive symbol)

(pic thanks to jag87)

This gives you your original ISO.

3.
Open ppf-o-matic3. Select your ISO file from above.
Select your .ppf patch file. Click Apply. Wait for the ISO to be patched.
If you also have patch update files, you can now apply them to your ISO as well using the same method. Select the same ISO and the next patch and click Apply.

Read the instructions that come with each patch to see if there are any other methods or techniques you need to use when patching. This is the most common and basic method usually used.

4.
Now you are ready to burn your patched ISO image.

I tend to defragment my hard disk at this point. Then you should shut down all other programs (or better yet, reset your PC).

Open Nero or Alcohol120% and select the Burn As Image or Burn Image option. Select your patched ISO file. Insert a blank DVDR and set the speed to be as slow as possible as this is better for the life of your PS2 laser. If you use cheap DVDR types and/or fast burning speed, this is not good for the life of your PS2 laser. Set it to burn and leave it for a while. It will take time so be patient and don't mess with your PC otherwise there is a chance that the patched disk won't run.

Once it has burned you can now play your patched version of PES4 on your modified PS2 (using either a chip or a fliptop lid or a slide card - more details on this over here).

If you can follow these instructions, you will soon be playing PES4 looking like this for example:

(thanks to jonboyo's 10th october patch for PES4).

This is a basic and simple guide to patch PES4. If you have a dvd-burner and a modded PS2 then you should have very few problems. Post questions and such here and we can try to help you.

you gave different instructions for the british premeir patch,i did all the shit it said with dkz but got lost on how to burn,ppf-o it's easier.like i said when i tried to play the mammy rammer all i got was the playstation sighn.playing reefur&french one fine....so wuuussssuuupppp?

also where it says to download all of these programs do you have to download both decrypters because the second link always says page not found

By clicking on 'Source'. Sounds like this may be a bit too difficult for you to try to follow if you can't do these things.

Ask reefur questions in the reefur thread. I'll check on the file size when I get home and post it in the reefur thread unless someone else does first.

Can you cancel it half way through for example, without ruining the disc? Therefore if it's going to take hours for example, I can cancel without worrying?

Yes you can stop it. It's fine.

And to clarify:
You can't RUIN anything.
If you're stop listening to a CD and press stop it doesn't get ruined, does it? Same to reading from a game disk. You've probably turned off your PS2 while it was reading a game disk. Nothing happened.

The only thing would be if you press stop while writing onto a disk. Then the disk you were writing on will not work properly as it is missing data. But it's still not ruined.

Ok, by ruined I mean making the disc unplayable.
Thanks for clarifying that, I think I'll start right now...

*Runs upstairs to get PES4 disc*

I got this message when I tried to do it...

UDF File System Parsing Failed!
Reason: Unable to find 'VIDEO_TS' folder.
Are you sure you have a DVD-Video Disc in the drive?

What does this mean? I went to go to Mode > ISO > Read but Mode was blanked out after this?

Select the correct DVD drive and Then try going to Mode - ISO - Read.
Then go to the image at the bottom of the green arrow and click.
