Beating human players`

do any of u out there know a very effective method to beat human opponents? hey post some out here pls.normally i just concentrate like crazy that should be fine but playing a real freaking serious game against a human(maybe money's at stake? or somethin as impt as that), is there other 'killer' methods besides like maintaining the lead by constantly pressing the x butn hard so the defenders really press on the opponent real hard, even constantly fouling them.as in playing a very mean and fastpaced game like everybody's aggression just rose.or maybe keep on playin the ball out? haha thats cheap man.

but back to da point.so r there any gd formations or styles of play u might wanna share?

Through balls and 1-2's do it for me, give it a go, from anywhere in your opponents half ;) clean through with a 1on1 with the keeper

Try a lot of 1-touch passing. For some reason in PES4 first time passes and very accurate, and I've travelled up the pitch from goal-kick to scoring due to one-touches. Try it.

BTW nice sig - shame it didn't quite work out as you planned. :p

Well i dunno it i would say its effective, but to an extend i suppose it is. But it looks horrible. Yesterday I was playing someone on live and the way he would play infuriated me. All he kept doing was dribbling with every player he had, it was pass pass from defense, then dribble, and not just any kind of dribble, basically spinning around in circles not geting anywhere, then passing to another player, then doing more circles, basically twisting himself inside and out. Ok on some occasions it worked and he managed to dribble into the box and get a cut back or 2, but it just looks crap!!. I mean with certain players in pes4 it is possible to keep the ball in this way as there is more freedom to dribble. But I cant stand people who will just take the ball spin spin spin pass and shoot. Besides, each time i robbed him of the ball, I hit him on the break and he had no reply.

I prefer to just play a rounded game, and take into account what kinda team/player I am playing and try to adjust to that. Basically like you said concentrate hard, but also try to be one step ahead of your opponant. Being able to read potential plays that he may do will give you a good advantage.

I think you should play on the wings. When i play i ussualy dribble than i go with a through ball to the wing so I decide weather i dribble or pass to the player in the box it depends on situation. If a player is good defensifly you should pass arond and try a through ball but if he is bad so he cant take the ball from you i think you can easily score if you dribble him.

drink loads of alcohol. u play betta when ur drunk. from what i notice i concentrate too much when im sober. if im tipsy or drunk, i play more funnier, i laugh more and i have more passion for fun on the game. ur more relaxed and dont think about losin 2 much. play when ur drunk thats the best method!!

What the hell is that? If it's an insult directed at The Boss then I am sure a permanent ban is in order. Please explain asap.

i use 1-2's and thru balls, (high and low) you time them right and you get a result!
i also play better when drunk, or my mates get worse than me so i gub them!! ha ha

It's supposed to be a middle finger being stuck up. However on our forum signatures do not recognise spaces in ASCII pictures so it didn't work out as it should.

i always find it hard to play against other humans especially if they're your brothers as they learn my style of play quicky, but normally i just foul alot play long ball aas this tends to dirupt the flow of the game and i hit them with a sucker punch, especially good when you're playing for money :D

I would say play a formation that brings your best players in a squad (that is to say, players with best stats in the game) into play and uses their strenghs. Eg When I play as Manc United I want to get Scholes on the ball where he can play a bit and also uses speed of Giggs on the wing.
For defense with United I would push the line up and press. This suits the team as they have Ferdinand and Silvestre who are both pretty quick and good at nicking the ball using x so if they get past you, you have a chance of getting back, I probably wouldn't play like this with say Chelsea or Arsenal as John Terry and Sol Campbell are better at stopping someone in their tracks who is already on the ball rather than trying to nick in with an interception higher up the pitch. Witth Sol's high balance stats he is hard to get past but he can't recover as quickly.

I would say its very annoying for my opponent but sometimes to slow the game down I play the ball back to the keeper and tehn hoof it up field. Good spoiling tactics if you are a goal up

i normally counter. So i use a team that has a defensive work effort and decent fast strikers. Monday i played against a mate who has the same playing experience and teh result were 0-3 / 3-0 / 0-3. I had inter and he had AC milan and because of the counter attacking style of both teams it pretty much ended up who scored first wins. Last time i played with arsenal but their defense was far to attacking so he had loads of space to attack in. Its pretty much which style you prefer, attack/possesion or defense/counter. Then just choose the team to play with. A reason i base it on this is because we pretty much know each other is going to react to passing, tackles, turns ect so its hard to beat each other based on actual playing style.

Otherwise its just patience, either concetrate on defending and take you chances or keep possesion and keep your eye on the radar for your strikers runs.

Essentially there is no "perfect" way to play to make sure you win, after all its not fifa and each game is different and needs you to adapt

I always feel really self concious when I start beating my mate Jack (a rarity, but it happens some times). I remember once I was beating him 1-0, then i got clean through on goal, his keeper came out, I passed and made it 2-0 and I could just see the anger building up inside of him. When he got a late consellation goal he was like "YEAH, IN YOUR FACE" and I just didn't say anything.
I'm always handicapped by a lack of competitiveness =(

Always great getting a late winner and you know there are no come backs for your opponant, that is the killer way to end it, especially if he had the run of the play...
