It tends to become very mechanical at times playing PES a certain way...almost feeling like FIFA at times just moving up fast & banging in goals back to front. Some gamers like that but how does one play beautiful soccer is what i wanna know, not just button-smashing & chasing after opponents in some table tennis scenario...
It at all possible to play towards such levels of realism and if so how does one start going about it.....

The team I play best with in PES6 is Barca. Im undefeated. I use short simple passes and knock the ball around and play possesion football, Its Barca so they are already skilled at doing so, but it works very, very well.

Like when kicking off, I always pass the ball back to Gio and look at the radar to see who has space, it does help other players to make spaces aswell and when I get a goal kick, I short pass it to the defender whos closest to me, intead of knockin it up field to lose it in a header (Because Barca arent the biggest team) and then I work it from the back and having three pacey frontmen in Messi, Eto'o and Ronaldinho its usefull to get the ball to either of those three and if need be, you try and make a run, if you lose the ball youll have about 7 other men behind it so you have a good chance of recovery, aslong as you dont dive into a tackle and be patient.

The best thing that I do is play simple passes all about the pitch, which draws my opponents out to me, I never panic and clear the ball in my own box, I play my way out because theres always someone outside the box who can collect it and move on. So always use your radar.

EDIT: Its ok to do some tricks now and then, mainly the one that lets your player let the ball shift past him which gives you a good advantage and slow dribble is usefull too, in tight areas ;)

I agree with Charlie 9.

You have to keep your eye on the radar...I think that was the reason konami did not give the option to remove the radar. It takes a while to get used to but I find I look at the radar more than looking at the screen.
One should also become familiar with the formations to see which positions players run into.

Forsure. I tried it & its like noticing when a players is right in front or
next to a defender for a safe pass...cool man.But anotuh thing is i notice you could edit a players role as well, forexample CF or just plain out ST. Is there any difference between da two?

CF is for players such as Kanoute, Trezeguet, Drogba,Crespo (strikers that you want to stay upfield or the middle man in a 3 pronged attack). SS/ST are the more mobile strikers that move around more such as, Messi, Ronaldinho, Van Persie etc...not to be confused with the wing forwards though.

I always just keep my players moving, So I'm constantly using One - two's, But I keep the ball moving before I return it so..

Say Gerrard has just one two'd and made the run, well I may pass it four times and keep all the players I passed too moving. Soo When I can see one just about to run through the defence I send it back.. Abit like how arsenal and Barca play.

wot i do is hold L1+X as if you were goin 2 do a threw ball but dont press the triangle after it just make people pass and the make a wonderful run do this abit and u will see the difference

as said always use the radar.i also have the camera on wide, just lets you see runs better and helps pick good thru/lob thru passes i highly recommend the wide view.as for the ss and wf if you set it too wf the player has more of a tendencie too hang too the wing wheras a ss will sit just outta the box and make runs into it.a dm will sit back more than somebody in the exact same position but role set too cm.

beutiful football.be patience build up too something,i always try flair as it is beutiful!!try lobs and chips and stepovers, dummy the keeper,1-2s,use r2 to tell your player too make a run,use the l1 1-2 then press r2 as you get the ball and the passer will make a faster paced run.dont be scared too knock it backwards.defend properly instead of just holding x i back up and allow other defenders too get back and help out,use [] too call for sum1 else too apply pressure as you back up.

try this too,if you have henry, rooney, del piero come in from the left wing and be on a parralel with the net and do a l1 chip b4 you move to the other half of the pitch, theyl do a special animated chip with loads of swerve, can do it in training and a game but cant score in game at the mo!

lastly play with a smile!!!!!!:)
