so we're all struggling at BAL right? since they start us off with such shit stats. so for fun, i decided to put the difficulty level at amateur just to see what it'd be like to rock the football world at just 17 years of age.

and of course with the difficulty level set to amateur, i signed for betis and went on to win the treble with them. champions league, spanish league and the spanish cup. i was awarded with top scorer, assist leader, MVP, and team of the season member for every competition. in short, the best player in the world. obviously anyone can do this on amateur difficulty. but here's what FUCKS me over:

at the end of the season i was hoping to move to a big club. but jesus h. christ, the only offers i got were from five or six clubs that ALL finished in the bottom half of the table. WTF??? for the hell of it i transferred to hull city. and guess what?? i was back to struggling for a place on the goddam bench.

this is fucking ridiculous if you ask me. to become the best player in the world at 17, just to get this shit??? what a terrible terrible disappointment. Konami will always have fifa as rivals in my opinion if they always leave some major fuck up in their game. son of a bitch.

you cant automaticly make it to the first team, even if the best player in the world... and for the low-class signing, wait untill you have good stats and get a bitt older, then the major offers will come.. also dont sign right away- wait for incoming offers.

yeah thats what i guessed. but jesus isn't that ridiculous? they give us crap stats and you become the best in the world DESPITE those crap stats, only for them to totally ignore your worth JUST BECAUSE you got bad stats. thats fucking ridiculous in my eyes. its not realistic AT ALL. and it throws your effort back in your face. like i said a bitter disappointment.

think about it. i mean for me it was easy cause i had it on amateur difficulty. so imagine someone manages to pull of being the best in the world on top player difficulty, only to be fed with this bullshit??? thats a goddam shame and a waste of time. it really is a major flaw in my opinion. i've been playing winning elven/pes since i was a kid and this is a goddam disappointment to this otherwise great new feature.

but thanks for the advice dude i will keep trying. im a big barca fan and wanna sign for barca so badly.

You'll only get the best in the world on top player when you're actually playing for a big team I think... Playing on an easier difficulty level will just mean that its easier to perform well.. I'm sure that after another season you might well be getting offers from bigger teams.

I think you're overreacting a bit here, as BAL is meant to be played with a challange in mind.. so just putting it on easy and getting all awards doesnt do the mode itself any justice... Just play it on a level that is challanging to you..

i know what you mean buddy. i know it isn't much of a challenge at all. i was just trying it for the hell of it ya know? just to take a short cut just to see what it would be like to be the world's best player. but my point is that it's really unrealistic. since the in game events do not change with different difficulty settings, achieving the same feat on a harder difficulty would bring the same disappointing effects. which is what im basically saying: it is very unrealistic. this new bal mode is great fun, don't get me wrong. but i would have really preferred this aspect of the game to be a little more realistic.

Hmm, dunno, kinda depends I suppose. I got an offer from Valencia in my second season, while playing at top player. Barcalona and Real and such only came in later on when I did well at Valencia..
I know what you're saying though.. it can be a frustrating mode as well sometimes.. but in the end its well worth it..

speak for yourself mate i'm doing ok on top player. my blokes 30 now, i haven't won everything but i'm quite flushed for titles, surely you didn't expect to win everything by the time you retire??? and did you expect to start off with amazing stats? leaving you nothing to work towards???

wow dude you sure missed my point entirely. my point was, if it wasn't painfully obvious, that the game does not give you just rewards for good achievements. other than that i love BAL and the challenge of it.

maybe next time i should explain things VERY carefully and maybe try to put my point across over three or four posts instead of just one. ya know REAL slow like since some people (namely you) here cant understand english very well.

i meant that the poor stats at the start of the game generally means most players cant do fantastically well.

do yaself a favour and look at the whole post and try to find the point people are putting across instead of taking just one sentence out of the context of the entire post.

yeah i love this game. i think bal is great. i think its good that they make it so challenging by giving you low stats at the beginning.

the only thing i was trying to say is that the one and only thing which is disappointing for me is that you dont entirely get what you really deserve when it comes to the club offers aspect.

Given the fact that this is a relatively new mode for PES (was in WE J league, but implemented quite differently) I'm really not surprised. Think about how much Konami would have had to juggle in order to make this mode work even as well as it does... If they had taken the time to invest in programming which would only pay off for players who were playing on a lower difficulty level, then I would just be ticked off, personally, since there are so many other things they should have been focussing on. Point is, I think it is totally reasonable of them to have assumed that everyone will play to their own difficulty level. Amateur is for kids who don't play a lot of footy games, and if they were using it they wouldn't have done as well as you, and hence not see the problems you did. As for anyone being good enough to become the world's best on top player...? I don't know. I'd like to hear from someone who has had that problem to see if it's even possible before we start complaining about it.

I think it's a great mode. The things that annoy me most about BAL are the following facts:

1. crazy ass transfers - like in the ML, players should go to teams that are highly ranked and not just to any club
2. being substituded virtually every match (even when being the MOTM)
3. more training modes for BAL to improve your player

There are obviously more points for improvement, but these are the most important ones that I can think of

i like the difficulty and challenges of BAL on Top Player. the mode means much much more than simply dribbling my way through the entire opposition team and scoring 200 goals a season. I personally don't care much for trophies and all these things. There are games that I don't score any goals but have really nice shots on target (hitting the post) or even help teammates in doing so and the game might even end up in 0-0 or a 3-0. doesn't bother me at all.

The only thing that bothers me is when I'm playing but not totally concentrating in the game and end up getting 5.5. I just don't like to be subbed. but the times my concentration was totally in the game, I feel involved and I can see the difference that my performance does. Its simply rewarding for me.

also, I've heard that many complain about how the AI plays much better when we are subbed. I really think its just that without the human factor the AI has complete control of the game and player movements. but when I'm introduced and I don't play as well or move all over the place and not execute my role efficiently then that perhaps affects the AIs performance. I've seen many dumb defense mistakes when I was on and off. Also there are times we were a goal a head. I get subbed and my team loses 2-1. other games they score winning goals or even maintain the lead.

yeah i think the offers are dependant on your stats. for example you can bang in 50 goals a season on amateur or even top player if your well good (my best is 26) and still have poor stats hence the rubbish teams come in for you. thats all i can think it is. i just got my head down at cagliari for 5 seasons and then barca came in for me. started in the rezzies for them but you soon break your way through.

also, your stats might stop going up so rapidly at about 25 26, then you get a little 2nd wind when you hit 30 so don't panic if your stats stop their meteoric rise.
