Become a Legend help?!?

Hey guys, 1st post, so Hey :)

Anyway, I got this game today, I am an avid fan of the PES games. Anyway I have been looking forward to getting stuck into the Become a Legend mode, only to be bitterly disappointed when playing!

I am currently doing training matches, and haven't managed to break into the subs yet. My problems lie with the gameplay though, so I am wondering if anyone can give me any tips?

I call for the ball and get into great positions but I never get passed the ball, and my other players always loose the ball as well! On the rare occasion I actually get the ball, my player is so slow that nothing can be done except pass it back! I don't mind all the getting into the teams etc, but I am never getting any touches of the ball in the match!

Before anyone says that it is me, it is not. I am quite good at the game at the moment, started Champions League and Master League on top player and I am winning games, but I just cannot understand this BAL mode!

Anyone help? :(

Ye its not you i know how you mean i feel the same, i love the game mode, but get increasingly fustrated at the fact that i get shit service and when i give great service its wasted!!

what difficulty and position are you doing?

i am doing amf and i started top player, then started again on prof

and now i have conceeded defeat and am starting on regular...main advice is just to stick in there eventually your character will get better and then you will become a ledgend!

I'm sort of having difficulty with it too i'm playing as CF and have to keep coming back to help midfielders cos they cant tackle or even get past players, managed to get on the subs bench a few times and scored my first actual team goal today lol keeper really should have saved it but woohoo. I think you probably just have to give it time after all it is like a 20 year career and after a while your stats do appear to go up a bit more than it starts off with.

with me i felt the same right at the start, but i was just as excited playing the training matches. My position is attacking midfielder, so i never really have a problem in getting the ball passed to me.

Once i moved to newcastle, the ball gets played to me better and without me needing to ask for it. Ive decided it must be the players " Team Ability " rating thats is high. Think about playing for a crappy team, their stats are lower so their vision to pick a pass is crap. thats the way i look at it

I picked Attacking Mid as my position, but when at Sunderland, i was played as 2nd striker and now in my stats bit, i have 2 ticks instead of one. I guess overtime you Develop special abilities

Just stick at it man, you will be on bench before you know it, then you'll be a first team starter. Just do what i do, do 5 minute matches for training and games, but once your in the first team, fire the matchtime up to 10 minutes

Btw, in your player profile, the " strengthen " part, if your a winger, you should put more Strength into dribbling and pace, instead of say Power/Kicking.

Its a great mode :)

Yes, this is expected and normal. You normally start at a very bad club with bad players. Besides, you're a 17 year old just pulled from some amateur side.

If you get called for the international team you'll feel the difference immediately. I got called up in my first season (I don't really know why, I wasn't that great in my club), and oh boy, it was much much easier playing ball with the likes of Ronaldinho and Kaká than Italliano and Odgani ;P

Cheers for the reassurance guys, glad it's not me haha. I am on Top Player atm but will definitely be changing when I get back on it! I am loving the mode, just getting a little frustrated at it! But I will stick with it, cheers for advice :)

with me i felt the same all i can say is stick at it, its diferent for every team, when i first started i made the starting 11 for wigan we never scored a goal in 11games (boring i know) then i signed for west ham never made the bench once even thou i got 2 goals in training and assisted 1, so i signed for bolton made the 1st team scored the equalizing goal against arsenal, its really adictive what i did was them power bar things (sorry if i sound thick i cant remember what they are called lol) i made my player get more better in speed stamina and kicking so my player can keep up with the pace (even if its a shit shot its still a shot on target eh)

as for getting team mates to pass the ball just think of triangles on the pitch get into a good position track back make triangle passes to you team mates youve gotto remember the team's A.I gameplay might not be the same as yours as stupid as it sounds i suppose its like fitting into the team and how they play football

for me i only have a problem with rating i cant get higher than 7 keep getting a lot of 5.0 5.5's enven though i think ive played well lol

I've gone top player all the way :)

I've also had my ups and downs, but I got my move to Liverpool after the 4th season and they play me every time in the smaller matches. :) I just need to prove that I'm good enough for the Man Utd and Arsenal games :)

Just stick with it and your hard work will pay off in the end :)

Thanks to a guy named "Benotti" on a dutch forum he has put a list for "Bal" where all the points is assign to after a (training) match.

In the menu 'strengthen', you will find 6 categories, which you can assign 0 to 6 blocks. One plus sign in the overview means one training block, 2 plus sign means for each training block you will gain 2 points (if one of your category has the full maximum blocks (6) the attribute will have 12 points each match). Next to this you will have match experience points as well. As you can see for the category Technique (kicking) will have the most advantage and Stamina very less. Finally this depends also on your position which you have chosen.

When you're not very skilled, even if you asked for a pass nobody will give you the ball. But after 3-5 seasons, they'll even pass without you asking. I've played 7 seasons and got the PLAYMAKER special ability, and everybody always looks to pass to me. Just be patient, skill comes with time.

In the first time, you should really try to not loose the ball needlessly...

I chose SS and normally play has a CF or AMF...

Try to protect the ball, and only try to dribble when you're 1 on 1, or when you have a lot of space.

Most of the times, I try to assist other players, or just help the passing possession game.

When asking for the ball, make sure there's a clear advantage for that player to pass you the ball... try to find holes in the defense, come back to when they're having trouble getting close to you...

Simply do what you'd do in real life.

Hi,
Getting subbed in the 75th - ish minute

Just a swift question, my stamina is 83, I have an average of 7.19 (last year). My player is 21. Thought it might have been age but, even after sticking with a team for 2 seasons and receiving MVP for both seasons along with Top Scorer and Top Assist, I still get subbed after 75 mins! I have managed to stay on for the entire match due to the ball staying on the pitch...
Any clues? Players with less stamina than I are staying on...

Hey Champ,

It's not you. It's probably because your team is winning and the manager wants you to have a rest.

Hi arnica and shaun7,
Thanks for the words of encouragement! But my fear is this, by not playing the entire match, am I getting less match exp?
Cheers!

Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.

it takes roughly 8 games to break into the team.

once you play proper matches with team players instead of squad the passing and movement is a lot better. also, try using auto move all the time your stats aren't the greatest... it gives you a feel for where your team needs you to be instead of where you think the team needs you to be. make sense??
