Been in contact with HMV

Phoned HMV today to ask if there were going to be any copies of PES5 released on Friday, the woman checked and said she knows nothing about it ... later on i e-mailed HMV at [email protected] and they replied saying the same, i then sent a reply asking if she was just saying that so that it was kept quiet and she so "no there was definitely no copies available till the official release" and asked for my source because she has had a number of e-mails over the last few days asking the same thing, She also said she was going to "rectify the situation as quickly as possible to avoid any further disappointment", So looks like it wasn't real after all, i was going to go to HMV on Friday morning aswell, good thing i checked in advance.
Who was it that started the rumor?

They tried to keep it low-profile dummy. If anyone was like you sending e-mails and like and the HMV would say "Yes, it will come out on the 9th" the streets before the stores would be full , causing all sorts of traffic problems and would influence the smooth continuation of pedestrians in the HMV block.

I don't think there would be as much hysteria as people here say (IE. people camping out and rushing to get the game) so obviously HMV wont want to advertise the early realise but i don't think they would deny it to a potential customer either, i probably will still end up going to HMV Friday morning just because i don't know who to believe but I'm swaying towards HMV, if I'm wrong I'll happily eat my words.

It is coming out on the 9th, but the release is extremely low key (due to the few copies) that even the staff cannot reveal it until this Friday.

It will probably be a big pack of lies, your best off ordering it through www.play.com and waiting for a while.

My Cousin works in the HMV in the Bullring, he told today that around about 7,000 copies of PES5 could be released on Friday 9th September, if not they WILL be released in the UK before the official release date. He told me the reason for this is because last year over 1,000 copies got stolen whilst them being delivered to stores around the UK a few days before they where due to be sold to the public, that’s why last year PES4 was on sale 1 or 2 day's before the official release date in some stores, due to the stolen copies being sold on the street. Konami informed HMV about this, obviously because they don't want it to happen again. So i guess they last year, the copies where probably stolen from HMV.

I brought PES4 on the Thursday (1 Day before the release) from GameStation last year and I asked why has it been released a day early and they told me the exact same thing about copies of the game being stolen and sold on the street, so they where told to sell the game earlier.

So if it is not in HMV this Friday, I suggest you keep checking if you really want it before the official date.

If you don't belive me fair enough, just wait and see what happen's.

:laugh: ..And you fell for it. I remember someone saying keep it on the bloody site. If HMV find out that more and more people are finding out about this friday they might even cancel it. I'm going to go because i know my source is telling the truth.

I e-mailed again earlier on asking if she could tell me one last time, 100% that there wasn't any copies coming for Friday, She didn't e-mail back, Think that means there is copies coming on Friday and she just cant tell me, so she didnt reply thinking I'd take the hint? Or that she couldn't be arsed e-mailing back.

I was at the HMV here where i live, earlier on too and they said they wont have it till November.

Surely thats settled, but if GAME have it as the 28th, who knows of its tru lol

My mate is the manager of hmv leeds he told me that he 100% certain that pes5 is NOT released on friday.

yer erm mate that date says the 4 of november not october i think most people agree with me that konami should confirm the date sooner rather than later

Absolutely no way will PE5 be out earlier than October. Why would Hmv be the only shop with copies ? I would be very,very suprised if its released b4 the October release date. Just my opinion tho.
