Most Important Positions

I was wondering what everyone's favourite defensive pairing was. My current favourite is Anthony Gardner and Walter Samuel because they are very tall, have good enough technique to remain calm under pressure, and can also shoot when they need to. Samuel in particular has scored 21 goals in the course of his career in my Masters League Team.

I would be grateful if other people could post their defensive team so that it gives me a few ideas for team members, and also so that you can boast about how good your masters league team is.

Quality back 4. I tried to get John Terry for my Real Madrid team but I failed in the end because he wasn't willing to change.

Maybe he will come to my Spurs team. . . pfft! Lol

only prob now is hyypias stats are going down with his age and he is pretty slow, but brilliant in the air. terry is ace CB. most of the CB i went for were too old eg. stam nesta etc

Yeah I know what you mean. I went for Stam, Nesta and Cannavaro and Cannavaro was shite and Stam had started to get worse as the seasons went through. His ratings didn't go much above 6 for the rest of the season and he couldn't keep the pace up for many games.

It was the Cannavaro from Juve, but it was the season in 2007 so he had got pretty old and slow. Damn him. You can't beat the good old English defenders like Terry and Campbell though!

Has anyone had Van Damme (LB/CB) who plays for southampton? His stats shoot up.

I can't say that I have had a look in at any of the Southampton squad, apart from Dexter Blackstock. I know that it is the wrong thread, but someone has to take a look at Blackstock because he is an awesome player. I may be a bit biased though because Dexter Blackstock used to be an Oxford United player. Probably the only Oxford player worthy of a place on Pro Evo 4!!! Lol

Fairly unknown to most, but thats the kind of team I have, and still dominate with them.

Couto - My favourite, holds the right like a rock and nobody gets past him. Bought him at 18 years old and a number of his stats are 99, play him often. (His dribbling is rubbish at first but get over it)

Tresone - Worst of the 3. Not that all bad but has no impact whatsoever.

Raukers - Tall as fuck. Scores great headers, good defender and a good buy.


I also had Bareshi, but i sold him after he scored an own goal like an idiot.

He's at Southampton aged 16, turns into a god. Saw him on Match of the Day for real and he wasn't bad either!

Just search for his name when you go to negotiate and add him to the list

Cant remember the teams specifically, and not sure if one or two are from classic teams, in which case you need to unlock those first

my defence is still young but if i played for another 4 seasons they will all be class!
i got heitinga, koltari(kompany), Contreras, and Pique for bak up who i play as defensive midfielder. also found a young iran(i think) player calld something like dagaka. his a right bak whos more attackin than defensive so i play him on my right wing. my aim was to buy a young squad and watch em grow buyin all the super super players and the classic stars jus seemed borin to me but i can understand why others wud buy em.
