Ok to start a network game yourself go to settings and tick 'run as server' and make sure you are connected to the internet, start a new game as you would normaly do then when it has finished loading go to game status and it will say your IP address (which changed every time you play) Then to get a mate to join the game give him the IP address and 'Join Network game' and then he will type in the IP address and he shud be joined.
