Wait, play pes09 and then compare it. From the videos it looks like pes 5 attack/defense style but it's only based on the videos.
Well maybe you said "yet" because pes 09 is not out yet.

You're right, Aki did mention it a lot that they had gone back to the drawing board but my ineterpretaition of what Seasbass said last year when they received so much criticism for PES2008 was that this years edition of PES would come a little too soon to make the kind of changes PES needed. They have gone back to drawing board in terms of menu's etc but the gameplay in essence looks the same, to me anyway.

However, i could be wrong and if PES09 is what they meant by 'going back to drawing board' then i for one will be bitterly dissapointed about the 'leap' to next gen gaming by PES.

Yeah I would also be disappointed.. But I'm quite sure they still haven't included anything "Revolutionary" -because- they have Only One Year, and after the mess that PES08 was.. well, PES09 looks as good as it could've been considering it's been Only a year.

That said, I do expect some mayor leaps in many Aspects for PES 2010.. If Not I will be very disappointed. Until then, I hope I get to enjoy playing PES09.

If PES2009 has the visuals of PES2008 plus the gameplay of PES6 (PC/PS2 version) then it will be the best footy game around. I expect PES2009 to be all that plus improvements.

WTH is wrong with you guys? PES 2008 SUCKED major *****. Winning EVERY game at very hard mode 15-0 ISN'T fun AT all. Picking up the ball at your own half with ANY quick player, dribbling 6 players and scoring ISN'T fun AT ALL. Don't get me wrong, I've been playing this game since 1998. It's my all time favourite game, but I played PES 2008 only for a month. Guess why? It sucked. 1st thing is gameplay. Screw all this CREATE A face, boots etc. WHT has COVER or MENU do with the game? You only see it for 30 sec. We need better, more realistic gameplay. Not this unnatural quick shit.

Couldnt agree more!!!! As long as the major improvement is gameplay PES2009 will win my vote. Yes it is nice to have a license etc but that takes the fun out of editing!!!! Gameplay + PES = Best footie game in the world!
