First two are excellent. Really enjoyed the multiplayer addition too, something different.

BELIEVE
Just finished BioShock 2, finally. I was trying to avoid any information regarding BioShock Infinite just in case it spoiled anything, so now that I've finished the game I've been looking around at the new game's information.

BioShock Infinite looks brilliant though. BioShock 2 was great, but it wasn't a patch on the original to be honest. My spirits are lifted though looking at the gameplay video, it really does look different and creative. I did indeed check Wiki and just thought the 2012 date was a mistake considering we already have a gameplay video.

I don't mind waiting till 2012 if I'm completely honest though if it means they nail the game. I hope they take out the multiplayer too, there's just some games multiplayer doesn't work in and BioShock is one of them. It's just pointless, 2K only put it in I think because of all the multiplayer hype with online gaming nowadays. BioShock is a single player game and they should just focus on it.

I'm really not sure about this. I haven't followed it closely because I fear - rightly or wrongly - that it'll be just a bog standard FPS with an occasional gameplay twist. If its truly something different (and more like the first BioShock than the second) then I'll like it.

EDIT: Can't take the reviews to date as seriously as I'd like to either. These days most games reviewed before release are part of a nice little agreement between the company releasing it and the reviewer. That doesn't mean it isn't amazing, just that I can't know either way yet.

I think it'll be more like the first BioShock than the second, but I doubt the formula has changed that much so I can't exactly say it'll be truly something different. A re-skinned BioShock with a new story perhaps? :/ Will have to wait and see. I'm looking forward to playing it - hopefully in the near future. But truth be told, I just want to get this game to stare at Elizabeth's cleavage. :ninja:

Apart from IGN's 'exclusive' I think you'll be alright. It's usually when press aren't given advanced copies and reviews only come to light on release day that I get worried (see Colonial Marines for a recent example).

A friend of mine got a copy early for reviewing, and apparently he jizzed himself several times while playing. I haven't seen it though, and we usually don't like the same types of games but he's usually a fair reviewer.

The world is apparently really involving and alive, and he went on about some nazi comparisons and racism stuff... sounded intriguing enough. Anyway, he rated it 6/6 and that hasn't happened in several years...

I've played around an hour and a half so far and it seems like a decent game. Not too far into the story at all as I've been taking my time looking around etc. I've just..

...got to the bit where you find Elizabeth and escape the tower. You end up washed up on a beach.

Like I said it's not very far into the story at all. The combat is alright, I had heard a few grumbles but changing the controls to a more FPS setup helped me loads (right analogue melee and LT to aim etc). The shotgun is a bit overpowered. Killing people with the sky-hook is awesome.. I think I use it a little bit too much

I sort of wish I got this on PC now so I can see this on ultra settings but ah well.

Is it more free roaming than the last 2 Bioshock games?
