Can anyone actually put a swerve on a free kick?

Because I can't. I've tried many times the usual way. And I play Pes/we since pes2 so I do know how to do it. But in PES2008 I can't put swerve on it, can anyone else put it? they just go straight to where I send them.

I think that you need to use the chip button instead of the shoot button to get swerve on your free kicks

Strange, the swerve is fine for me. Even managed to score a cracker with materazzi

I used the left and right buttons, and got a bit of swerve. Maybe it's just that they don't look swervey compared to corners.

On the ps2 version when you hit the free kick and hold and left/right it kinda swerves but if you also press R1 or R2 repeatedly then it seems to swerve more !!

I didn't have any issues with this, swerve in free kicks is fine.
Of course, if you're sending in a missile, you won't see it swerve a lot.
