Can anyone help

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but i'm trying to upload a picture for my avatar but the site says the image is to large (too many bytes i think) and i don't know how to make it smaller or see how many bytes it has.

Does using a mac have anything to do with it?

Dude, all you have to do is re-size the picture..I`m sure you can do this with Paint for MAC. And you won`t have any trouble doing anything with MAC.

save it as a *.gif file for smaller size

Maximum px size is 120x120 but it seems by what you said that you've already done this and dont need to resize it - so just save it as a gif

If not then upload it to a website somewhere and use the feature where you can put your avatar from a link.
Then it can be as big as you like (not pixels, im talking size)

oh and to see how many bytes it is right click the file and go to properties, but i dont know why you'd need to, gifs are nearly always small enough
