As per above, just bought Pro Evo 5 to play on my x box 360, is there any way to upload an option file to have the correct strips and crowd chants ect?

Normal xbox users have a Max Drive which is a USB device which can transfer option files. Is there any way to transfer data from an xbox or a pc to an xbox 360?

How did it go

Did you try the "crack my hard disk open " thing Robbo? How did you get on?

Good spot there with that website, I was looking around that "http://www.360gamesaves.com" and the way the tutorial......

http://www.360gamesaves.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=6

....describes the conversion of old Xbox save games to 360 sounds almost too good to be true.

I don't think I can resist it, I think I'm going to buy one of the accessories that get save games from PC to 360 and try it out next month. It'll probably not work and I'll be left with some useless accessories, they may make nice ornaments though sitting beside my now useless Xbox maxdrive. :)

I don't blame you for not opening up your hard disk, I wouldn't want to do it either.

I'm going to do it by buying the converter that lets you plug your 360 memory card into you PC and read it using Xplorer360.

I will do it next month when I'm a bit more flush and have a bit more time to clear a space on my shelf for this new ornament/useless 360 accessory...... ;)

And I now have a new ornament. :(

I've bought the memory card ....

http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/GENBRW/3-/719739/Official_XBox_360_Memory_Unit/Product.html

.... and the memory card transfer kit to attach the memory card to the PC....

http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/product.asp?c=GB&cr=GBP&cs=£&r=1&l=1&ProdID=323

....when I couldn't get it to work I joined a forum where I very quickly discovered that it is widely known in the 'messin with yer 360' circles that you can't copy over any Xbox 1 games saves to your 360 using the memory card. :( :(

They do mention though that you can copy most Xbox 1 game saves using the XSATA....

http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/product.asp?c=GB&cr=GBP&cs=£&r=1&l=1&ProdID=403

....and on the forum they even mention the folder I.D. of "4b4e0030" for pro evo 5 save files which they probably wouldn't mention if the save files didn't work on the 360 (the 360 doesn't use folder names, but I.Ds instead, you will need to know the I.D. so you can replace the option file in the correct directory).

So it sounds quite promising that the option file will work on 360 with the XSATA. Unfortunately the memory card transfer kit isn't brightly coloured so makes a pants ornament on my shelf, oh well...... ;)

Is it always this hard to download option files, or is this just going between the two generations? i.e. if eventually someone makes a 360 option file available for download, how hard would it be to get on an xbox360?

On the Xbox, Pro Evo was one of those strange games where you couldn't just switch on your console and copy the save file straight from the max drive onto your hard drive via the dashboard screen, Because of this I'm not even sure a 360 option file would work.

On the Xbox you had to load up Pro Evo first and get Pro Evo to recognize the max drive as another drive before Pro Evo then copied the save file on to your Hard drive. When Microsoft created the patch for Pro Evo on the 360, they didn't add the 'recognize any other drives' code to the patch which is why my transfer kit won't work (whether I've got a pen drive, ipod, or memory card attached, it still claims there are no other drives attached to any of the ports).

The 360 Option File is supposed to be identical to the Xbox one except that the "dateinfo.xbx" doesn't exist (or something like that), so if you could get the file on to the 360, then hopefully it would work, apparently not all Xbox save files work on the 360 though.

This has really annoyed me to the point where anger has taken over any responsible approach I have to money so I have ordered the XSATA drive now as well and should have it by Thursday at the latest. Hopefully by then I will be sitting in option file heaven and my wife will not be listening to expletives flooding from the bedroom. :)

Got the Option File working on my 360 last night!!!! :)

With just the XSATA (http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/product.asp?c=GB&cr=GBP&cs=£&r=1&l=1&ProdID=403) attached between my 360 and my PC, I used the Xplorer360 software on my PC which allows you to view the contents of your 360 harddrive and I....

- Selected "Drive" > "Open" > "Harddrive or Memcard...." from the Topbar menu

- went to drive "partition 3"

- Drilled down the folders into "Compatibility/Xbox1/UDATA/4b4e0030/" ("4b4e0030" is the 360 folder name for PES5)

- Deleted the folder "5252897584A1" ("5252897584A1" being the 360 and Xbox folder name for the Option File I think)

- Replaced it with the "5252897584A1" folder of my desired Option File ("5252897584A1" folder contained only a "saveimage.xbx", "SaveMeta.xbx" and .xsv file)

....then switched on my 360 to at last have this wonderful Option File working!!!!

Not that I found, the memory card approach wouldn't work. I can't copy over save games from the memory card to the 360 harddrive for any of the Xbox 1 games I own. Surprisingly even some everyday 360 games won't let you copy save games over from the memory card to the harddrive (e.g. DOA4).

Nah, the only periheral I've seen so far that lets you do it is the XSATA as it doesn't interact all GUI-like with your 360, it just lets your PC look at the 360 harddrive as an everyday harddrive which it can add/delete files to/from. I dare say you could probably even mess up the 360 file structure so badly with the XSATA that the 360 wouldn't be able to read it anymore.

THANK YOU! I was about to mail my xsata back to gamestop--in pieces--when I came upon this post. Now, it works and my girlfriend won't have to listen to me berate the television anymore.
