First of all, this seems to be a great forum :)

And then over to the subject. I've tried almost every way to get the classic teams. Tried installing the PES Reality patch, which works for a friend of mine. But here it doesn't. And then I tried the file linked here http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=54270 but it doesn't work either. I'm getting somewhat frustrated and annoyed to not be able to play against my brother using classic teams.

EDIT: I've tried to reinstall it more than once, but still ends up the same.

to get classic teams you have to win the cups using their normal teams, so to get classic france, win the cup with normal france

I do know that's the "proper" way of getting those teams. But I doubt my friend has done that. He's used a modified file, and I've tried using the same file here, but it doesn't work. It's some Reality patch, but might be as good to just ask him to send all his files here?

he would just have to send you his save data from his konami folder, then you put it in your folder and delete the other one, providing you are using the same patch

The file that you have linked above should work, I think you may have one of the many PES2008 bug problems.
Here's some solutions for you:

Auto-Load Problems

Make sure you have both the edit file (PES2008_EDIT01.bin) and option file (PES2008_OPTION01.bin) are in the "My Documents/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 2008/save" folder then launch both load settings from system settings, AND load data from within edit.

Then turn auto-save on, and do a final save just to make sure.

Also, use fresh EDIT and OPTION files just incase the previous ones were accidently overwritten.

and

Problem with PES 2008 PC NOT LOADING OPTION FILES.

my problem came back. its tempermental.

basically you install pes as admin, then if ANOTHER user plays pes, not admin. then ownership of the game transfers over. then when the game is run as admin it won't load the option file as its inside another users directory and programs arn't allowed to look there. (obviously)

in bbbb's case it this seems it. the only solution is to play the game as that other user, or manually load both the option file and the edit file within the game.

hope this helps.

i belive theres a pc patch 1.20 that fixes this, but it wouldnt install for me saying error thats it.

basically that is the problem, for best results install pes under one user only and only use the game as that user. i cleaned the lot and made a seperate user account called pes, and only use it for playing pes and patching pes thats it.

again hope it helps.

If these doesn't work, please come back.

And may I ask if you are using a 64-bit Vista OS?...this may contribute to the problems you are experiencing.

Thanks Deckz :) I tried the first solution and it solved the problems. Even if it made the teams go all German with spelling due to the PES Reality patch being from Germany. But that's a minor problem.

And no, I'm using 32bit Windows XP with SP2. (Not that it matters now that the issue is solved)

EDIT: How come I've got to load and do those things every time I start it since it seems it's not saved even if I'm 100% sure I did use the save option. And can't seem to find that autosave thing.
