CB Overlap

I've been using the tactics on PES for a while now, but I've always neglected a few of the options - namely this one, but I've just started using it and when you do it right it is damn sick.

For those who don't know, activating the tactic makes a chosen CB run right up the pitch and into the opponents box.

9 times out of 10 I start with a pretty balanced 4-4-2, but I generally have formation A set to a 4-3-3 and fomation B to a very attacking '2-3-3-2'. I play a prettty patient, passing game, so my current favourit tactic is to knock the ball around until I see some gaps beginning to appear, switch into the 4-3-3 then add the CB overlap. If I time it right, I have 4 players in the box ready for a cross. It's upped my average goal tally from a 2-0 avg on 5 stars, to more like 4-0, particularly against teams playing with three at the back.

CB: Marquez (set to CB overlap)

CF: Kezman

The team is pretty ordinary, but I find these players work well in my system. Did Forlan bribe Konami?

Nice tip, i think i'll experiment with it, and i can see what you mean, forlan must of bribed them.

What tactic do you activate for your cb to run forward?
I play with a 3-5-3 formation and if the cb made the occasional run forward i would be unstoppable.

The only time Id put CB Overlap on is if I went Atl. Madrid and had Perea as he's probbaly one of the fastest players in the game and the fastest CB.

PS. I used to think it was SB Overlap, (eg. R.Carlos + Salgado)

well considering the season forlan had last im not surprised he is actually a good striker, he just did'nt settle at man u, its a funny old game, some players take a few seasons to settle, some start banging in straight away its all about mentality and adaption.

What tactic do you activate for your cb to run forward?

Go to Strategies and assign a button to it and it asks you to pick a defender to do it with. Does it work with 3 at the back?

I don't know if it works with three at the back ... I don't see why not, it's probably better suited to that kind of formation anyway.

To get the CB to run forward, go to strategies, set it to manual and assign one of the buttons like Zygalski said, then when you're in a game press L2 and whichever button you set it to and the CB will start bombing forward.

In response to 3663Dawg: I'm not saying Forlan is a bad player, but after a couple of seasons in Master League, Forlan is up there among the top 10 strikers. In my opinion one good season for Villareal doesn't mean he's at that level. In reality he's probably not in the top 20 strikers in the world.
