any know how to creat a DUMMY file !? in above tutorial isn't explain that :( and another question is can i change name of saved file for example BESLES-52760PES4OPT to PESFanOptionFile ?

Goto notepad type in 12345 and save as Dummy. Put it in cdgenps2 and edit the lba to 30000. This will increase the toc size for you .

4. Converting to npo;

The first thing to do is to extract all the files from the PS2MENU, PS2 SAVE BUILDER and CDGENPS2 files linked above into a folder. Open PS2 SAVE BUILDER and open your game save;
-------------------------------------------------------------------\
whats the game save? cause i see both .bin and .cue, which one do i load? confused! thanks :D

The game save is the x-port file, it ens in .xps You shouldn't have a bin and cue until you've finished the process. You need to download the x-port version of the option file.

Im not sure if this is correct, but I think you only need a Dummy file on the CD if its only 1 option file you burn onto it? I've used this method a few times and it works perfect usually, however sometimes when the data goes onto my memory card i get corrupted data along with it-and some Sharkport saves didtn work for me...such as Fight Night Round 2(anyone know where to download a good option file for that game??)

Hello everybody,
It is possible to create a DUMMY within CDGENPS2. Click on the 7th button down, on the left. The icon has a pic of a white document and 'NEW' written on it. You can fix the lba and/or the size of the DUMMY you want to insert.
I'm sorry the tutorial doesn't include info on how to do this, and i'm unable to change the webpage because I have changed my ISP and no longer have access to it. I'm surprised it's still up.

I see your method, but is it not easier to press one button in CDGENPS2 than open notepad type 12324 and then save it? Just a more convenient way of creating a DUMMY, that's all. :rolleyes:

That way doesn't work for me. So NO it isn't more covenient! It creates a differnet kind of dummy file for some reason. :rolleyes: If you actually bother to look in the guide it doesn't create this kind of dummy file.

Considering I wrote the guide then i don't have to read it. And i can assure you that the DUMMY was created in the way i described.

How do I know you wrote it? Prove it! Why didn't you include how to make a dummy file then? Also the dummy file created by the cdgen doesn't give the same icon that's in the guide does it? And if it is created in this way why doesn't it work for me? The only way it works for me is using my method. So I ain't been clamped or anything! Me thinks your talking out your arse!

Are you questioning whether i wrote the guide or stating that you did not know i wrote it?
I realise there is no description of how to include a DUMMY file in the guide and i have explained in my post above that i cannot add it. There's no real argument here, both methods work and to be honest i don't care which method people prefer to use. Just thought it might help, but obviously it's more trouble than it's worth.

Well fair enough, well done. But your method doesn't work for me and in the guide it also doesn't create the same kind of dummy file as the one cdgen creates that's all. Just because I use a method that works for me you didn't have to dismiss it. Your method does not even increase my toc size. Where as in the guide the dummy cleary does. So are you using a differnet version of cdgen?

I didn't dismiss your idea, and you can indeed use both methods. I will agree that the icon for the one in the guide and the one created within CDGENPS2 are different. The guide is so old that i can't remember how i inserted the DUMMY on that occasion. I will gladly say that the best method to use is your method, if it saves confusion and this silly bickering. I don't have anything else to say on this matter

I'll try and copy the guide into this thread and give credit to jayjays and anyone else.
Let's try to get along :)

Hi i am using the option file that came with the Reefur patch.
I successfully burnt the bin/cue onto cd, and it loads up PS2Menu
I sort of understand how to use it thanks to a link posted up here, however i am not sure which files from the cdfs to copy to the memory card.

Please shed some light on this for me thank you.
