I used this method to TRY and burn the option file for PES5 on to cd, but when I try to run it on my ps2 it doesnt work, I duno whats up because I've used the method a few times and it used to work but now it just doesnt seem to be working...and I've wasted about 5 CD-R's , any help?

Hi. Wrong place to ask this which is why it wasn't answered quicker.

Max Drive works on ALL PS2s, no need for chip.
If you want to play a patched game, yes you need to chip or mod the ps2.

And if you want to upload an option file from CD to memory card, must your PS2 be chipped?

Chipped or modded so that it plays backup disks.
Such as a flip top lid or slide card with swap magic.

I think you might have to use a program called Sony CD/DVD Generator to create the PS2 DVD-ROM file structure and directories.

Download it from here:

Don't ask me how to use it though because I don't know.

Well then I can't help you as I know nothing about generating PS2 standard CD/DVD images.

The problem is that I've read all posts couple of times before I posted my question, and I didn't found a sollution. Ther is one similiar post, but no one answered it. I'm doing everything as in the instructions.
PS. Is it possible to use MCloader to copy option files to MC? Sorry for my english

I know that I am a little bit late, but... I've got question again You see I've never thought that I am able to use WEmerica option file without some stuff like Xport (or maxdrive?) so I haven't even open a tutorial of aplying this. But today I did and I've rode that all I need is one CD. However I have burned CD-R with option file at lowest speed (it was x8, I don't know why, but I couldn't get it slower), putted it into my ps2 and... nothing appeard. So this is: if someone could tell how exactly apply this O.F. to my memory card (step by step, with all details), or give a link to a good tutorial or maybe tell me what I am doing wrong, I will be pleased. Thanks in advance.

If it can help, I'll tell that I haven't deleted the previous pes5 option file to not lose it but if it's necessery to delete it first, I'll do it (I am just afraid to stay without nothing).

if I do this with a max drive save.. do I need a max memory card? or can I just make it work with a normal memory card?

If not.. will the convertor make me able to use max saves on normal memory card?
