i know mate, thats another reason i think its a lot of bullshit.
some ppl dont have a clue, rangers and celtic would definetly challenge for europe, and we wouldnt be in half as much trouble with money as your teams get all sorts of cash from tv and sponserships. bullshit thats all it is

I want to know wot peole think about Celtic and Rangers in the premiership. Personally I dont think it will ever happen and even if it did the they would only b mid table or 8th position at best.QUOTE]

I have to say that although it will never happen,

1) That would be great
2) Celtic would get UEFA Cup place at least, Rangers 9th / 10th place
3) Scottich football would be better off, It would mean a competitive league, not a two-man race!

Any thoughts on my opinions????

I would agree that celtic and rangers would be a mid table team, but i think the Spl would lose all credibility if the top teams go elsewhere. You always need a few teams that are know from each division.

Persaonally i believe that if entered into the premiership celtic and rangers, within a few years, would become two of the biggest clubs in the world. If you consider how big a fan base the glasgow giants have and compare it to that of the likes of arsenal chelsea and liverpool you will find that the glasgow teams are more popular the world over by a long way. Celtic made it to a U.E.F.A. cup final in 2003 with relative pennies from tv money. Theses two clubs would attract the best players in the world if added to the premiership as money would be readily available and as celtic have officialy the best fans in the world they may add a bit of atmosphere to the dull flat english support.

Although when celtic and rangers leave for the premiership the spl will become a super diddy league and end up like the norwiegan or swedish league i still believe that the spl has been a far more exciting league than the so called "most exciting league in the world" in the last three years the spl has gone down to the last day twice whereas in england the league has been a foregone conclusion by mid april. Obviousley the quality of the diddy teams in the premiership is far superior to the spl but it all balances out.

If Celtic and Rangers want to join the English league, then they'd have to start at the bottom of the pyramid and work their way up through the Northern League, Northern Premier, Nationwide North etc.

No way should they be allowed straight into the Premiership or even the football league, you get there on merit, not by having shedloads of cash...

I have a point to make. Glazer's takeover at Man U spells changes in the EPL. It's about money.

Think of TV rights for clubs. Will companies not pay more for rights if Celtic and Rangers are in there? Yes they will.

Think of it like this. Who would you rather see? Manchester United Vs Celtic/Rangers or Manchester United Vs Wigan? (for example)

You know the answer. (unless you're a Wigan fan)

It's going to happen, just not for the next few years.

Wrong forum by the way...
