CF making movement to get behind the defence

I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make CF's run into space when the AMF/CMF has the ball - so I can thread a pass in. My players just stand there and its starting to get on my nerves, especially on the counter attack!!

Can someone please help? .. I'm at the point where throwing things at the tv is not even satisfactory anymore ..

meh, you can't do much.

Best thing is to have a quick responsive striker who will see your through ball and play it

Or use the wingers more.

Using wingers you can very easily get a striker into a great place, thread in a brilliant ball which they can latch on to and put in the net.

I can score very easily with this technique and usually get goals coming thick and fast

If you're playing in ML or MLO try signing a striker with the Goal Poacher or/and Fox in the Box ability cards. Them two are supposed to position your strikers more favorably in attack so that they can score goals.

It's just a question of setting up the pass, so your striker has a straight lane to run at the opposing goal.....

Nothing else you can do.

One other way is to play a quick pass to the forward and then execute a 1-2 pass - this makes the forward pass the ball back and then make a run....it's not fool proof obviously - but I've found it can be quite effecttive to play a series of 1-2's and you'll find most of the palyers moving somewhere useful....ish!

I amhaving the same problem
whenever I am on the wings there are no Center forwards in the box to head the ball into the goal!

I tried a few different formations - I'm playing ML - and players did start making runs but they are still inconsistent, meaning sometimes they make them, some times not.

I finally decided to put in a play maker AMF - diamond formation - with 2 SMF on both sides and two CF's.

Especially as blonk mentioned when the ball is with the SMF my CF's become completely and utterly stagnant - even if i wait a few seconds before passing or crossing. I am starting to believe that the problem with my players, like a few of you mentioned. Not only my CF's but the midfielders too.

I TOTALLY agree with the point of that thread.. What i have to suggest is just to buy pato:p he makes great moves, at least for my team:p he moves very fast to the ball, even if he wont make a good movement to get the ball...

It can depend on the player and teamwork stat is also important, a player with a lower teamwork stat won't make as much effort to find space. Also you could try adjusting player support to get your players to move further ahead of you. Don't personally have a problem with this unless I have a new signing and then of course teamwork stat starts below 10.
