The Champions League mode is just a "Marketing Tool".. to be Honest, I couldn't care less about that Mode. The way I see it, Konami turned a good thing into utter disappointment.
They could've Implemented the CL into the Outdated Master League -but- instead, we end up having a Separate Champions League Mode that isn't even Fully Licensed.
Be a Legend Mode, Champions Mode, etc, etc.. Who gives a shite about those Modes?? Why doesn't Konami focuses on more Important matters such as producing a New Engine -with- New Animations and Gameplay.
I think PES09 will be a brilliant game -but- Unfortunately, I think Konami are out of Inspiration, they just seem Out of Ideas, still playing PES5 in 2009.
This is The Important Difference between Programmers -and- Real Football Fans who DO understand How Football should be Simulated. I don't see a "Complete Overhaul" by 2010.
I don't see myself buying PES 2010 -even- more so, considering I'll still be playing PES09 by then. Konami better gives a me a good Reason to change PES5 for another game.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Amateur, as far as I'm concerned they can shove the Champions League mode right up their own ass. I don't want to even think about how quickly the whole CL intro for their matches are going to get old and everybody just pressing start to skip it. If they implemented the CL into Master League and you only saw the CL intro for a match once in a while it would've been a thrill every CL match, now it's going to be tedious and I can't see myself playing that mode more than once.
For the become a legend mode, nice concept but I'll guarantee that it will be poorly executed...why didn't Konami just add tons of new animations, a even better edit mode, better gameplay, more leagues (even if unlicensed), 3rd kits for teams, better graphics, better AI (in the gameplay movies the AI seems ok, nothing special, the defence at times still seems all over the place), and for fuck sakes...a better master league (why can't they add a decent calender, team morale, transfer rumours, decent fatigue system, player of the year/month etc.)

on ps3? are you serious? i know they do that on the pc version, but all the option files for ps3 has the same pathetic shit konami released it with

Sounds like a good Alternative.. Champions League Logos, Balls, etc, etc..
But What about the Champions League "Intro Music"?? Can this be Implemented into the ML?
If so, then that would be awesome. Would give some much needed Realism to the ML.

Thats my point, we can add all the adboards, balls and logo's with patches so that we have the CL. How come Konami didn't spend the money they paid for the CL license on more stadium and team licenses. Amateur hit the nail on the head when he said the CL license is just a marketing tool, I totally agree with that!
