Anyone know how the Champions League Knock Out Stage is set up? Specifically, who does the winner of Group A play? Is it the runner up of Group B? Or is it random everytime?

It's not like the Euro Championships or the World Cup. The winner of a specific group will play the runner-up of any other group, bar the
club(s) from the same Country.

No, it's just random - which really pisses me off, since it's awfully wrong. Another thing that pisses me off big time is that instead of playing your opponents in the proper order of: A, B, C, C, A, B, it goes A, B, C, A, B, C. You'd have thought if Konami had forked out for the CL license, they'd be bothered to sort this out, but of course not.

Yeah, this was a weird one, Even the goal difference rules are implemented which makes it stranger the fixture schedule runs this way (By the goal difference rule I mean that if you are level on points it goes by head to head record first and then goal difference) Which funilly enough I found out about the hard way against PSV, Its a strange one because everything else is pretty much spot on. Still love it though.

Its not randomly,Normally they will have A,B,C,D, group for ECC cup.

Group A (first placed) VS Group B ( second placed)
Group A (second placed) VS Group B (first placed)
Group C (second placed) VS Group D (first placed)
Group C ((first placed) VS Group D ( second placed)
