Change of formation. Which player to drop?

I currently use this formation:

SUBS:
Nani
Walcott
Guily
Senderos
Richards
Totti
Rosisky
Gilberto Silva
Diaby

However, I am conceeding too many goals, and therefore need 4 defenders. The transfer window is approaching. I am thinking I should drop Beckham, but he has the most assists out of everyone for the last 4 seasons.

What formation should I use and who should I drop to make room for another defender?

You dont need four defenders,I play with a 3-5-2 formation and i have given it to a few people on this site nad they have loved it.

Your formation is too spaced out tigten up midfield.Have a DMF to the left side of Centre midfield,A CMF in the middle of the field and a AMF pushed up a good bite.

It all depends on who is playing in the positions.
Who are your CBS?

It's because you only have 1 CB and still have to SBs, with 3 at the back you are much better off putting them all as CBs otherwise the SBs could push up and you would easily be taken apart down the wings.

I always play with 4 at the back!! Never concede that many goals, tried with 3 at the back once but never liked it!!

Richards and stam are great defenders if your playing 3 at the back.
You need to have 3 big defenders who can win headers easily

Stam isn't to good at the mo as I only just brought him (only 18), putting him in my 1st team to gain some points.

He's one of few people who I've signed in a summer transfer window, played him a bit - been appaled and offloaded him in the following mid-season window. A liability if ever there was one.

For those who don;t want to risk 3 at the back try this. Have 3 at the back but have 2 wing back in midfield. These will basically act as your side midfields and side backs and basicaslly take care of the length of the pitch. Not to mention if you like the whole pass to side back then to side midfield to an easy trip down the side. At many points of the game usually one of your 3 cb will pretty much act as a side back. Especially if you have someone usually plays a side back position but still has enough defence to make a good CB. Micah Richards is a great example. I have. I have just recently tried this out and it is really working wonders.

Keep Stam and develop him he gets very good.
Wing backs take players away from the attacking pont of the formation.
If you have 3 Big and fast cbs and a stiong DMF and Cmf you will rarely concede goals
