Clarification needed about PS2 V PC online play

I've heard rumours that PS2 is compatible for the first time ever with PC versions of the game.

But so far, nothing i've seen on website seems to confirm this and no PS2 players have confirmed this yet either?

So, i'd be much obliged if PS2 users can help me out on a few PS2 V PC questions.

1. Can PS2 players play co-op online? Eg if i have a friend round my house, can 2 of us go online together on the same team to V other PS2 co-op players?
2. If the PS2 is compatible with PC online games, can 2 PS2 players play online (from same PS2, at home) against 2 PC users (either in same house, or teaming up over internet), eg 2 V 2 co-op game? - OR - is it 1 V 1 games only that are PC compatible?

And other asides about the PS2 version in general,
3. What are the PS2 online options. More specifically, is it the same lobby system as PES5 on the PS2?
4. How do players communicate with each other? Is it the same chat system with a list of predefined messages like PES5?

Oh and just one last one:
Is PES6 on PS2 true 16:9 widescreen supported?

I have been playing the Ps2 version online, although it states on there the online mode is not offically open till 12BST tommorrow (well today now) i have been playing online for the last few hours as have a few thousand others

Although ive not personally tested it, you are given the option of going on ps2 english server , an a pc english server, as well as french etc
so the rumors are true my friend but i havent actually played a pc player yet (to my knowledge)

In regards to your questions regarding teaming together, the best way of puttin it are

a maximum of 4 playstations (or mayb pcs) can take park in one game via a screen that now appears before the match settings screen, aka you choose a game like before but you join a mini room with the host, or you host an up to 3 other playstation 2's can join

from there, a maximum of 2 players per playstation

so you could have 2 vs 2 with 2 ppl on side sharing the same playstation/tv, an the other team could be 2 seperate playstations, most ive played is a 3 on 2 (my team won hehe) with me alone playing with a playstation that had 2 ppl on against 2 seperate playstations :)

chattin is unfortunately similar, you can save messages like before, however the game can work with a keyboard but i cant b bothered to b honest to get a keyboard

i will post more details in a new thread but i hope this answers some of your questions :)

Thankyou, nickwales!
This was the most pressing issue for me when trying to decide what version to go for after the 360 version misses it's feature list. I think i'm very happy to hear the testing you've done and i'd be overjoyed if 2 players from one PS2 can play 2 players on another team both with PS2s each. Hopefully, the same principle applies to play PC players. It would seem like loads of fun that way.

Once again, thanks.

I think this means the PS2 version is a dead cert for me.
