Classic Commentary

I think the annoying and poor elements of the commentary in PES are the fault of the scriptwriters, rather than the commentators themselves.

Very true mate, I reckon they have the japanese programmers write the script for PES games, it's just so bad, had the script been good, we could have some fantastic commentary, because lets face it, the commentators are convincing enough.

Mine are:

"He's raised his eyes to heaven there!"

"The sun is beating down and the wind is shooting through the stadium!"

"And it's just missed its mark!"

Classics.

The PES2 commentary team return for PES3 but much more clued up and intelligant. The PES3 video submitted by Nick will show you what i mean.

I know what you mean, the comments are totally out of context, like when you win two nil and Brooking remarks, "it was a great game to watch, even thought the weren't the goals there". Or when Castello blazes one about a mile over the bar - "fantastic effort, just over".

But one of my favourites is when you hit a screamer and hit the post or something - its usually along the lines of "oh, he should have got the one in!"

Sometimes I still hear new comments, but I've noticed 90% of the time you play a crossfield pass, you hear the phrase, "that is fantastic technique".

Yeah if you play the game for a manic 6 hours in a row, you hear the new phrases which are unheard before.

6 hous straight of PES2 commentary? You're definately a braver man than me Jag! I just turn it down to almost muted and put some music on. I just get angered when they start talking over one another - especially when they are both talking a load of crap.

Yeah i am brave. I had a allnighter with PES2 on christmas day when i got it and let me tell you, I heard many new phrases such as a -magnificent rifeling volley which just missed the target!
