Lee Bowyer
Forgive me guys but I have not posted the appearance for Lee at the moment. It will be up very soon, I just think its about time that these stats were posted, as they have been a long time coming, as Im sure Villene can testify to! So anyway, I will let people know when this post is updated with appearance aswell.
So here we have a player who was part of the old 'Leeds bad boys', and has the same spirit drilled into him from being at that club that the likes of Alan Smith do. Infortunately, I think we could all agree that his best days are probably behind him now, and I think his age is starting to affect him slightly now at the age of 29.

Probably the fact that he has pushed very hard in his career might also have something to do with it!
Athleticism - Like I said above any one who has played at Leeds seems to have that fighting spirit in them, and great stamina. If I was doing this update two or three seasons ago he would get a value of 91/92, but like I said age is starting to take its toll, and its dropped a little. Still very high though at 86, this value shows how great his stamina still is, despite slight depletion. A quite frankly hilarious value assigned by Konami was his mentality. 75!. Again if this was few seasons ago he would have had high 80's for this, but you do occasionally see him easing up in the last parts of the match. (Perfectly understandable though, considering the amount of physical work he has endured over his career) So a much more suitable value for his current state would be 83, which like his stamina is still great but just slightly depleted over last one or two seasons. Still got pace on him though with a top speed of 80, and acceleration of 78. Great leap also, a value of 82 is just right for this category. Again also slower than what he used to be, but he still has great stamina and pace.
Passing - Good solid passing is a key feature for Lee as he plays about in that midfield. Particularly eye catching is his 80 in short pass accuracy, so he is great playing along the floor. Konami certainly got his long pass accuracy wrong though, originally assigning him a value of 82. This needed to be lowered to a much more suitable 74, which means he plays realistic long balls, of his standard, not of someone with 82! I think something which Lee has benefited from losing some pace and stamina is, is that he has improved his final pass, enough to warrant being assigned the passin star. Since being at Newcastle, he has developed the awareness to play that nice little ball to the stikers, and the passing star helps give that feature ingame now aswell.
Shooting - Lee isnt afraid to have a pop from distance every so often, and has good solid shooting in real life which complements his midfield game. Konami overrated though, but not by too much. First up is his shot accuracy which is a nice value of 73 which gives him that good solid aspect to his shooting I mentioned. Definitely overrated in power, which was originally valued at 85. This needs to come down to 79, as he still packs that punch, but doesn't really blast them. Finally his shot technique. This is just right in the update, especially when you take into account the balance in conjunction with the technique. He has 76 for shot technique, so he can get shots off under a bit of pressure. But with a balance of 74, if a big strong centre back is getting near, he is going to have a tough time doing what he would like to do, so he often has to try and go back and engineer a little bit more space for the shot. A good free kick taker aswell, stats of 73 for accuracy and 72 for curling accurately represent his real life attributes. In real life he always works the keeper, so with these stats you aren't going to be able to curl that beauty in to the top corner, but take them in a similar fashion to how Lee does.
Team work - Lee is always a figure that a player can look for to work hard during a match, will keep looking for the space to either recieve or play a pass, and is just generally a great guy to have in the centre of your midfield. With team work ability of 81, he has that fluency of passing and movement that we need to mirror from reality. Also that high mentality of 83 I mentioned earlier is great as it means he carries on his high standards into the final parts of a match, but you occasionally see him easing up a bit late on. So now ingame, we have Lee bowyer with a CHARACTER! The hard worker in midfield who has great attitude and helps join up that fluency of passing you would like in the team
But as I said I think we have seen the best of Lee Bowyer, and it was a great idea of Villene to request him, as he was not only inaccurate, but his age is beginning to take evident effects on game, although we normally expect players to peak at this age. Having said that, I hope he find something that little bit extra at West Ham now, and hopefully prove me wrong that he has already peaked.
