Looking forward to the Tevez bag-man - though you could post updated Phillip Neville stats and i'd still look forward to them!

Some feed back on RVP - Pretty good really, not sure about the scoring star tho ... he always seems to hit it wildly and hope it goes in. Especially when considering Crespo doesn't have a scoring star and he's one of the best goal scorers around today.

My bad! Crespo does have the scoring star and 1-1 scoring ... still not convinced RVP should have it tho, maybe we should create a "just kinda fluked it" star...

only thing I'd consider changing for Van Persie is the free kick stats...since he scored a belter the other week:D

Firstly the scoring scoring star. You have got to understand the basic MEANING of this attribute before assigning it. It has no effect on how accurate the players shot is, neither does it affect the probability of the shot going in. It helps increase the ability of a player to hit the target with their back to goal. So it is great to have it for Robin Van Persie as we can help display how he can use his agility and sharpness to spin and get a good shot off. So the difference between say a player like RVP of Crespo who has it, compared to a player like Alan Smith who doesnt have it, is when Alan Smith tries a snap shot with his back to goal there is much more chance the ball is going to fly off wildly.

Secondly, the point Gun_Runner made about his free kick accuracy. True it was a great free kick. But let me ask you this; If we saw Claude Makelele score a belter from 30 yards would we increase his shooting accuracy to 80? No, and that is for one reason; One off incidents do not conduct a value for a players stats. There is always the CHANCE that a player might be able to perform something really special even if they have a mid 60's value for that stats. So in this case we have an absolute screamer from Van Persie. This one occasion does not change his ABILITY at taking free kicks. If we saw him over next season becoming consistent free kick taker for Arsenal and regularly performng free kicks of this standard, then it would be time to sit down and perhaps tweak/update certain values.

Basically to some this up; Given Frank Lampards shooting in this world cup, should we give him 66 or something for shot accuracy?

I agree with the stat that Bagrunnell gave Van Persie in FK accuracy because he doesn't score most free kick's he takes like: Juninho, Ronaldinho, Henry. And 79 is perfect, great work bagrunnell ;).

Carlos Tevez is probably the only player playing in the Brazilian league that I have had exposure to do in a sufficient amount to do stats for. A great asset for Corinthians, and a player whom is valuable to his national team in many ways. He was having a great World Cup, that is until the argentines were eliminated yesterday. Still a young prospect at the age of 22, I think we can assume that he will soon become a target for bigger clubs across Europe, and hopefully he will take those opportunties.:)

Physical presence - First great thing about Carlos Tevez is that defenders know that he is a strong lad. Great strength, and extremely hard to knock off the ball, this stands him in great stead playing in a side like Corinthians, and he provides another variation in the Argentinian national team. They are not that well known for their strength, but Carlos Tevez is a definate power house. So the first stat to mention is his balance one, which has been assigned a value of 87 in this update. Konami had given him a pretty realisitc value of 90:shocking: , but it just needed to be toned down a bit as it was slightly overrated.

Athleticism - Not only is Carlos something of a power house, he is a great work horse. This gives him some great attributes. It's pretty scary seeing a man as powerful as Tevez constantly closing down defenders, squeezing them back, and generally putting great pressure on defenders when they have the ball. This is exactly what Carlos does, and having a great Stamina of 87 means he can do this consistently and not tire too much, just like he does in real life (Look at Argentina - Germany match yesterday for perfect example of work ethic). His fantastic stamina is coupled by great mentality. He carrys on his high standards into the later stages of the match, and a value of 84 is just right. These are just to of the reasons he plays so well for Corinthians. He has the stamina and mentality to play in very hot conditions, so you can imagine how efficient he would be over here in England!
Great pace and agility as well give him another outlet playing as a striker. Not only can he use his power to hold up the ball, or muscle out defenders, but he also has the ability to run at defenders and cause problems with his pace. Just as fast on the ball aswell is a good feature, and 83 for top speed and 84 for acceleration are great values for these stats. High agility of 82 means he can make those nimble movements like he does in real life.

Dribbling and technique - Goes hand in hand with his pace really. Great pace has undoubtedly helped him to develop some great dribbling and technical skills which can give a good player that little edge, and make him into an even better player. So firstly he has a very high dribble accuracy of 86 which perfectly represents his real life capacity to keep the ball under great control while manouvering around the park. Like I said before, his dribbling speed is just as fast as his top speed, which is a great feature. He has plenty of tricks up his sleeve and a super first touch, so 85 for technique is the perfect value to represent this, and portray it well ingame.

I will be posting up another player, of whom I actually got the idea of doing from this morning's discussion about how one offs do not change a players ability. Well this player is exactly the opposite. A player whom we can see clearly from series of events needs definite updates and tweaks. Of course, it is the great Ronaldo.

Although i haven't seen all that much of tevez from what i have seen your analysis is, once again, looking spot on. I can't wait for Ronaldo but at least i've got the england match to keep me occupied

Great Tevez. And I'm really expecting kaka and ronaldo. Specially this last one, because he plays like he was still on Barcelona...

If there is one thing I would say, it is that he DEFINITELY doesnt play like he did when he was at Barcelona. Will probably make Ronaldo my next post, as people seem to be taking a lot of interest in him.
