Firstly two queries regarding Joe Cole. I knew I would have to deal with this at some point! First thing I would want to say is that if that value had been 2 points higher, it would have been a 'yellow' value, and I doubt this issue would have been raised. Dont look at a stats colour or whether its 80 plus to judge it. Dont forget that 78 is a fast value for pace! Just as it isnt eighty doesnt mean it isnt high as it is.

A common myth is that people with great dribble accuracy must have great dribble speed. Not true. Look at Pirlo, Zidane. To a certain extent Joe Cole, but he is still fast.

Now if neither of these things apply to you, and you just think Joe is a lot faster, then lets put this into context. 78 is still going to allow Joe to take on players with pace. He can beat players like Carr, De zeeuw, and Stam. But if he was running down the wing against say Emmanuel Eboue, would we expect him to beat him by pace? No, because Joe isnt extremely fast like that, he's just fast.

Lets not also forget that Joe may appear to be faster than he really is for one BIG reason. If a player is running at you doing blind ing tricks and stepovers, you are hardly going to be at full pace are you? He would dump you down in an instant. So a lot of the time Defenders a lot more cautious regarding pace around him as they know it can be used against them.

If anyone wants to discuss this further please PM me.

Well, he does do tricks and run at the same time, so you cant really tell if he is that fast.

Your right gun_runner, a lot of people judge stats by colour or just see. Im not making generalisations it's just I see this a lot. People often look at a stats colour or whether its above 80 and then judge it rather than the actual FIGURE and what it portrays ingame.

Timblez, Does he do tricks everytime he dribbles? He certainly does not. Remember Top speed doesnt have any application to how fast the player dribbles with the ball. So we don't determine a players top speed by how fast he is with the ball.

Good point mate. I totally agree.

Gun-runner and Bagrunnell - Yes, I must admit, I WAS one of those people who just looked for yellow and red/orange flashes in stats. #

Anyone noticed that in PES6, high 70s are now green. Maybe Konami have noticed people are being brainwashed by colours. ;)

Well Timblez, I must admit I'm proud you said that you just looked at the colours. Now you have admitted that, you have hopefully taken in what I said about judging stats by their VALUE and its relevance. So now hopefully you can become better at understanding, making, and using stats now.

Well done mate!

Oh and Bellamy is on the list whoever asked earlier.:)

Impotant Notice - Must read

Right guys, I hope you have found a bit of time to read this. Now I dont know how long I have been doing stats in this thread for now, but needless to say it is very enjoyable and we have had some great feedback. Dont think Im quiting, that's completely the wrong end of the stick!:D Well basically, you may have noticed that I went through a phase not long ago where I was churning out players a lot quicker.

Basically, that was hard work! My eyes were sore and my head pounded. I dont know if any of you stat edit but the kind of work I do, I maybe take 3-4 hours testing and developing stats, 1-2 hours writing a review and appearance, and another hour doing the presentation and stuff. So really per player it takes about 6 or so hours. I tired to do little things like leave weak foot frequency out or something, or the appearance, as I was getting so carried away with getting players done.

I realised that I didnt enjoy it so much, because I love the thorougness of this process. And doing them as fast as I was, I wasn't really having fun, it felt like I was doing them for the sake of it. Plus recently I have become a lot more busier, and got some other stuff on my plate as well. What it really boils down to is that I love doing this, but I get a bit worried that people get frustrated about the SPEED of it all, and lets face it, it's not like other threads.

So I am just going to change it up a little bit. Im not going to try and get players done quickly and end up compromising quality. Thats the last thing I want. I want to do it like I used to do. I want to spend time carefully going through the analysis, trying to get more information into it. I want to be able to get the appearances spot on, and to get the presentation to look great, as it is something that I pride myself on.

So dont expect a player every couple of hours, or even sometimes a player a day. For example Im doing Kaka at the moment. I want to get him done as perfectly as possible, stats and appearances, right a helpful and insightful review for you guys, and make it as great as possible to look at.

I hope you guys understand this, and please give me any thoughts you may have.:)

Papa

Thank you for reading.
Bags, this is not only fine, but brilliant! I would rather have these stats perfect than quick. Thank you very much for helping us enjoy our game more with these stat updates and I'm glad you're taking the initiative to slow down a bit rather than look at this thread as a chore.

Thanks very much Papa, thanks for the support and encouragement.

I seem to remember a few people showing interest for a set of updated stats for Phillip Lahm. Im well up for doing him, myself and Del had a conversation about him the other day, and we both agree he is a lovely little player.:)

Let me know if people want him, I did him about 2 weeks ago but never got around to finishing him, so looking forward to hopefully doing that after Kaka.

Looking forward to seeing your Lahm update Bags, I was on evo-web last night and found Dels stats on him and they're very good. For me he has definately been one of the most exciting full backs of the World Cup and his default stats don't do him justice. If you look at Ashley Coles stats i think Lahm deserves to be possibly on par with him, i don't think he's as good as Cole in the defensive role but going forward and running at players he is more exciting in my opinion.

Anyway look forward to his update...i've read your notice and fully respect your views on what you said, take as much time possible to get these stats up, you don't deserve to be rushed at all mate.;)

P.S. One last thing, do you mind me posting some Everton players stats on this thread? Don't know whether many people will be interested but i feel if we want to make PES5 a more realistic footballing experience, then even the more obscure players need to be looked at and analysed. Let me know what you think anyway.:)

Thanks for that reply Bluescouse, some very good stuff. Agree with you that Lahm is definitely one of the most exciting players in World Cup to watch in an attacking sense. I feel he could improve his defensive qualities, and that would make him a great all round full back.

Regarding Everton players, absolutely no problem with you posting them. (Thanks for asking by the way) People should be interested as EVERY player could do with tweaks and Im sure there are some Everton players which need it aswell! Hopefully you can give us some great stats which will give us yet more realistic players in the game. And if you need any help or advice regarding stats, give us a PM, or we can have an MSN conversation.

Cheers:)

Hey Matio, good to hear from you mate. Regarding Ferdinand93, he has had extensive problems with his PC and hasn't been able to get on for any sustained amount of time.

I think a few people are maybe posting a couple of stats of there own, e.g Bluescouse. And of course Cali is doing appearances but we havent had any requests!

Regarding what you said about players analysis, It is a great point because it is a very lengthy thing to do and would be good to get it done quicker. If Im honest though, thats a part of the post that I like to showcase my views, and probably one of the bits I enjoy doing most! I always welcome people to expand on it afterwards, and add any points that they may have though. I just feel that is something that I need to do myself!:)

Cheers

Take all the time in the world. You are doing a great job, and if you wanted to stop right now, and never do a stat again I would still very much apreciate what you have done... so thanx a lot for what you are doing, you are really improving the game.

I must be the only but i haven't heard of Lahm. how weird :( lol.

I don't know if you enjoy the whole graphic side of things as in the presentation of stats and that but i just wanna say if you ever feel yourself struggling and need things like that done, i'd happily help you out!

Alright Baggy? Long time no speak!!
Just thought I'd say well done on the most recent posts, Messi onwards. I've been on holiday for barely a week and I come back to have all of those waiting for me and they all play like a dream - you picked basically all the ones I would have requested as well.
Thanks again mate and as I always say keep up the amazing, outstanding, brilliant and great work.
Get back if you can.
P.S. The posts are looking really good at the moment, with the world cup backgrounds, the aesthetic look of them is spot-on!!!
