bag-man = Me and a mate made all-star teams and I included Juninho (the first time I've EVER used him) and he was the difference betweent the 2 teams, scored 4 free kicks and made countless interceptions in an hour game - crazy I know. Won the game 6 - 4 ... damn henry!

Anyways, one thing I did notice was Lionel Messi's shooting accuracy. The guy missed 2 sitters and numerous 1 on 1's. maybe it is something you have a look at...

I also thought of a good idea for a comparison: Frank Ribery and Luis Garcia. Ribery impressed me greatly in the France / Italy final (not easy to do) and Luis Garcia as he's young too, played well for Liverpool and a few people have requested him...

Just a thought.

Hey Baggy,

looking forward to your Kaka and Neville posts, It'll be great to have the majority of the English and Brazilian teams finished!!
I really like your idea of doing the Italian team, much deserved by them i would say - people like Gattuso, Grosso, Totti, Gilardino and Toni especially would be very aprreciative of an update.

Well just keep it up mate.

I love how everyone is only catching onto Pirlo now.

He's been a brilliant player for years. God, you guys take so long to catch on. I just love his style and technique. Never looks troubled really.

NO i have been following him since about 3 years back m8, he was great for AC Milan back then. But they play him as a DMF now and it doesnt allow him to play at his full potential, I like him better in the Center of Midfield, not in the Defensive zone of the feild.

And he isnt all he is cracked up to be anyway !!!!!!!!!

Sorry I havent posted anything until now, have had some real problems in my life at the moment, and I am just caught in a bad phase. I will try my best to get Kaka and Neville up tonight, but I am not promising things. There are lots of posts for me to get back to, but there is one in particular that I am particularly confused about.

Hmmmm, this is a pretty strange message, and I dont really see what your point is.

1) What makes you believe that people are 'only just catching on to him'?

2) Im not contesting you or anything, but I would have thought had you read some of the stuff in this thread, you would know I am an avid Inter Milan follower, and so this poses the question why would you think I am 'only just catching on' to Pirlo, as I am sure you are aware he had a spell there.

3) Even if people are only just 'catching onto him', what difference do you think it makes. Do you think it makes you better because you have known he has been a great player longer. I suspect there are people on this thread who know many great players that you have never heard of, and even then what diffference does it make?!

4) If people werent aware of him, then hopefully they may have learned a few things about him from reading this thread. And that is what we want. Its great if a person can learn something about a player they havent heard of. So dont come on this thread and make comments which have no backing, and dont try and put people down when they have done nothing at all, and are hopefully trying to learn something.

Easy tiger. Someone just got a bit too big for their boots there.

1) The World Cup has got everyone talking about Pirlo which, fair enough, may be a good thing.

2) Yes I knew he was an Inter Milan player. Good for you for following Inter Milan. Hip hip hoo-fucking-rah.

3) Yes it makes me better. Simple as. Nah, I kid. It's just frustrating hearing people blab on about how good Pirlo is when the first time they've seen him was against Ghana. (Trust me, I know people like this...) Also, every player mentioned so far in this thread I have known of for quite some time. Show me one I don't know and I will accept that. I'm not afraid to accept defeat.

4) Hopefully they will have learnt a few things. Good for them.

And my main gripe with how you just got all PMS(++) on me there was how you though I was aiming the comment at you. One sentence of my post said something that may have been a bit...how do I say...unnecessary. The second part was praise for Pirlo. You need to back the fuck off and stop playing the victim. I wasn't aiming it at you personally, I could be talking about a group of my friends for all you know. Don't come in here and act all big because you're getting lots of praise for your work (which admittedly is of a very high standard) and think you can have a cheap personal* dig at me. Fair enough, you seem to be a fairly erudite football analyser but that doesn't give you foundation to insult me so contemptuously.

Basically, back off because it wasn't aimed at you. It was more of a sweeping generalisation on how most (it's deeply frustrating that I have to repeat the theme here...yawn) people are only just catching on.

Thank you.

- Personal = (Dictionary definition here)

1. Aimed pointedly at the most intimate aspects of a person, especially in a critical or hostile manner: an uncalled-for, highly personal remark.
2. Tending to make remarks, or be unduly questioning, about another's affairs: As the student debate got heated, it got personal.

Note that my statement did not refer to "you" in personal terms.

If you knew me then you'd know that what I said was as tongue-in-cheek as possible. Lighten up.

Lorenzinho - Thats fair enough then, I obviously misunderstood what you were implying. I just didn't feel your post had any constructive contribution, and I felt you were trying to but some people down. But you have explained that you did not have that intention, and so I apologize for that. On many forums I have seen people who are 'veterans', like yourself, try to use their weight to intimidate people, I just wanted to make sure this wasnt the case in this instance. You have cleared up what you meant, and like I said I have obviously misinterpreted your point.

Having looked back at my initial reply too, I must also apologize for not using a certain modicum of politeness. As I recently said, life is hard at the moment, and I tend to be 'losing my rag' more often. So again, sorry for replying in a somewhat rude and aggresive nature.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your complement of my work here.
