Controlled shot actually worth it?

i think it would of been better though if it would let you hold R2 while your applying your shot power as sometimes i found it going horribly wrong as your tapping R2 after you've shot

holding R2 THEN pressing [] will result in a powerful shot, but lesser accuracy...

Holding R2 AFTER pressing [] but before the ball is struck will result in the controlled shot tat every1's talking about in this thread.

Scored a few nicely well-placed weak shots from outside the penalty area. Feels good.....

But 1 problem is that the amount of curl is still not realistic enough.... from freekicks you can get a good curl, but for normal shots the amount of curl is normally lesser than what it realistically should have.....

im willin 2 swear by the r2 shot, afterall henry pulled off a stunner of a goal from just outside the box and to the left in the last game of div 2 to seal promotion !!! won the match 1-0. i use it when the angle is tight and the keeper has got the angle covered , usually works. ... .

the controlled shot can be good for placing the ball into the corners. i tend to find the animation is glitchy though - the player seems to wind up twice for the shot before unleashing. often find that if you have blatantly put far too much power on the gauge then pressing R2 will stop it flying into the stands.

The PES5 guide says the controlled shot is most useful in the penalty area, where accuracy is prefered over power. It alaso says it can be used to hit a long range first time shot if you want to try and loop the ball round the keeper.
