controller pad selection - manual/auto?

k i need some help when u select how many peeople are playin on pes5 in the middle of the screen there is a box and in it you can choose if u want manual or semi-auto which 1 is the best and what does every 1 else use?

I suppose it depends on how advanced a player u r i play with manual as it gives u more freedom to position ur players and stuff but u must be quick with changing players when crossing and stuff

Most people I know use the full manual option.

I have to be honest, although I use manual... I see no real difference when I use semi-auto by accident or something. And my cousin Matt always plays semi-auto... and qualified for National Finals so it doesn't really have anything to do with being an advanced player, I'd say it's more of just a preferential thing.

you use L1 to change which player yopu are contolling. On manual changing players only occurs if you press L1. on semi-auto you can set how frequently the CPU will select who you are controlling, but can still change control with L1. A low semi-auto control setting is best because it allows you more control

I allways use manual....I find it is alot easyer that way

i choose semi-auto, but low value (1 or 2). this means you have lots of control over the players, but in desperate situations PES provides you with a little help

I would tottaly agree with this. I used to play manual, but with PES5 I said: let`s give it a chance to semi-automatic...Still deciding which one is better...

One notch on semi-auto, this way I don't need to change for stupid things like crosses, yet I still have all the control I need in terms of positioning.

i usually have it quite low to,about 2 or 3.this always works for me,so no need to change it.

Manual/Semi auto differences only apply during defence, right? I mean, even on manual, the game's going to change to the appropriate player to recieve a pass.

kinda right but when you cross the ball (attacking) you must press L1 really quick or it goes to the wrong player i find:unsure:
