Controller pauses game.

I use a PS2 controller and a Rockfire USB adapter with PES 2008 and FIFA 2008. (PC versions)
Using analogue stick; when I press down on the left stick; the game pauses.
This happens with both games.
How do I stop this from happening?

I had the same problem with a Saitek controller a few years ago but the software that came with the controller allowed me to configure the controller and stopped the game from pausing.

go inti your PES settings. (the ones outside the game) and go into controller and you can adjust your buttons
