Converting people from fifa to pes

How many people have you lot converted into pes,i converted my 12 year old step brother and now he is nearly as obsessed as me.i'am in the process of converting my mate but it is proving to be rather difficult.The usual responses to why don't you like pes are as follows in order of stupidness

1. you can't score from the half-way like fifa:realmad:
2. utd are called tradbrick:realmad:
3. van nistelrooy is called van nistelrooij:realmad:
4. becuase the holland players are called oranges:realmad:
5. it's not got the real kits:realmad:

I got one of my mates to play it, Although he still plays fifa, he generally liked PES4 for it's gameplay, harder to score and when you can, you can score better goals than FIFA i.e. volleys, bar and in.

i was a fifa fan before, but since i started pes 4, fifa looks total crap in front of it. even the new fifa 06 looks crap in front of pes 4 leave alone pes5

My best friend was always playing Fifa, and I told him to get Pro Evo cause it's way better. He even played it at my house once (we live far apart now so he doesnt visit often) and he got a bit trashed so he stuck to Fifa...

Well, being the good friend that I am, I just bought the game for his his birthday, and challenged him that the next time we'd see each other, we'd play again and I'd expect him to have gotten better... so I basically forced him to play it out of courtesy

Needless to say, he and his little brothers now love the game and feel Fifa is shite

Ive got fifa 2006 and it runs at 720p and looks amazing doesnt play as good as pes granted but it looks good and plays awright.

Converted a few friends, Its hard though because when you play them you slaughter them no matter what team you are...sometimes puts them off playing.

We have already prearranged a Playstation night when PES5 comes out where hopefully I can send him home with the desire to throw his copy of Fifa in the bin !!

I myself was a big fifa fan, realised how shit the passing was etc decided to change, got hooked on Pro Ev 2, got my mate to play it, didnt like it at first, now he's got every1 since pro ev 2 eagerly awaiting pro ev 5 like myself, oh and my brother was the same, he now worships the game...fifa just isnt the same, people think the graphics are good, fair enough there stadiums look better but there players look awful, you can't beat pro ev for realism and likeness, Pro Ev...rules..end of story

I converted no one, if yoú're blind enough to see that PES is the best than thats your fault.
Although I got my brother(well, I cant have family not playing PES )to play a bit of PES once in a while.

He still plays FIFA though.

Yes.. just as i thought.. all totally unrealistic and material problems associated with any EA follower. I remember me and my cousin playing EA's FIFA at Christmas last year we sat in his room and he was Real Madrid I was Bayer Leverkusen.. I'm pretty good at football games so i just passed it about.. He won a freekick which he scored with beckham
I won a free kick in the second half and when it was my turn he shown me which buttons to move and press and i got the same result.. i scored this time with Bernd Schneider.. later on he dribbled past my players and scored with an individual solo goal by Ronaldo..

I said to him that we should try to have one game on PES.. Version 4 btw.. and he agreed.. he couldnt stop laughing at the fact Pompey were playing Trad Bricks.. and the kits weren't right (didnt have a max drive at the time) but he enjoyed the actual gameplay and deep down i left him that day with something to think about.. he enjoyed the fluid passing and the build up play.. as most of his goals on FIFA were routine and samey.

I think its only a matter of time before he switches over to PES.. deep down the FIFA gamers love the series but if they are true football fans they'd realise the propper football was being played by all us on this forum on the pes series. I used to be a FIFA follower but converted to PES over one game on International Superstar Soccer.. also done by Konami. The fans will convert over but most of them in their own time.. and some i think are only sticking with FIFA with the very basis that started the thread .. I.E.. It's got better kits..
Well if thats propper football.. I've seen many a footballer turn up looking good but that doesn't win any matches or cups does it?

Are you serious about these complaints? All you need to do is buy a Max Drive for £10. Then go to the File Downloads section of the forum and download an updated option file where all the names, kits, transfers are updated and corrected. Then see how they complain.

:blush: :blush: .. erm the guy that complained was deadly serious.. my cousins the same.. in fact i also have a mate that reckons
"a football games developer that charges £30 a time for a football video game without the propper teams and kits is a rip off.. "
he thinks that konami should have had the kits on two seasons ago.. the fact they haven't highlights his criticism... but hey don't shoot me i'm just telling you what he says.

I've converted a few people to PES from FIFA, i usually start out by saying i was a FIFA fanatic for years untill PES on the PS1. Then i just talk about how gameplay is more important that anything FIFA offers

I used to argue till i was blue in the face (coming from a red thats some admission) with all my mates they were all fifa freaks. untill I started to hold comps for cash. becouse they all suffered from a problem we called fifa-ituss (circle=shoot, square=cross) i used to clean up. Now though they all love pes an competition is tough.
so in total thats six of my mates converted!!
