-The simple settings option is a complete crap,never try it. I tried it for 4-5 matches and lost them all (I think I drew with a team once).
-(A MUST)Take some cheap players like 300-330p before starting the master league (y'know that squad building part). You'll never be succesful -unless you're waking up and sleeping with PES- on the first season with ML players.
-If you ask me,I'd advice you to take a defender(cb recommended),a midfielder and a forward. If you want to,you can take 2 midfielders and 1 forward.
-Play 4-3-3 or 4-4-2,you can't score while playing with 5 defenders,and you'll also concede as well as playing any other tactic,because there aren't any good defender at first.
-Ivarov is the best of all 3 goalkeepers,but he has a good hospitality for balls,but he's way better than the other two. STAY AWAY FROM ZAMENHOF! (if you don't want to concede at least 5-6 in each match
)
-STAY AWAY FROM VALENY! He's one of the worst defenders I have seen in the game. He always tackles wrong. Stremer is much better than him,and he's 4 years younger than Valeny Jaric is the best option for defence. El Moubarki is a good choice for RB,because he develops more than Giersen,and he has got more stamina.Ruskin is recommended for LB.
-You can choose Ettori for AMF or CMF,because he's got a peak of 85-86. He can develop. Van den Berg has a good heading skill (DMF or CMF-put him on the center) Minanda gets tired quick,but he's the captain you know
-Gutierrez,Castolo and Hamsun(you can use Burchet but he gets exhausted after a half) are the best options for forward. Hope I could help.
